Job summary

Seneca Foods Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for the grave shift to keep raw fruit processing and packaging lines running smoothly. The role involves repairing equipment, hydraulics, pumps, gear boxes, conveyors, and performing basic machinist tasks with minimal supervision.

The position offers a competitive pay rate of $23.50–$24.50 per hour along with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401K, disability, paid time off, and more.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and maintenance procedures.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Ability to operate a forklift.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and repairs all raw fruit processing equipment.
• Maintains and repairs packaging equipment.
• Rebuilds, repairs, and maintains pumps, gear boxes, drives, augers and conveyors.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems.
• Sets up and starts equipment, lubricates machinery and parts.
• Performs light machinist duties and plumbing functions (steam, water, air, hydraulics).
• Maintains general housekeeping and safety practices.

Pay rate: $23.50-$24.50

• Maintains and repairs all raw fruit processing equipment.
• Maintains and repairs packaging equipment.
• Rebuilds, repairs, and maintains equipment per specifications, pumps, gear boxes and varies drives, augers and conveyors.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems.
• Analyzes problems related to equipment.
• Sets up and starts equipment, lubricates machinery and parts, changes over equipment for product changes as required.
• Performs light machinist duties, plumbing function - steam, water, air and hydraulics Also maintains general housekeeping
• Maintains and repairs all raw fruit processing equipment
• Must exercise the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must Conduct oneself in a professional and efficient manner and be capable of dealing with other employees, including Supervisors and Leads.

• Ability to operate a forklift.
