Job summary

Sanford is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to join our facilities team. You will perform routine electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and bed repairs, read blueprints and schematics, and troubleshoot to keep patient care areas safe and the campus running smoothly.

Shift is night hours 7PM–7AM, 8 nights on followed by 6 nights off, totaling 40 hours weekly. A high school diploma or trade school is preferred, with at least two years of building systems experience and a valid

Responsible for light maintenance repair and cleaning tasks completed in a safe, professional manner.

Job Description

Must take extra precautions when working in patient care areas and specifically keep tools out of the reach of children.

Must possess basic mechanical knowledge and show competence in the use of hand tools, meters, measuring devices and gauges.

Ability to work from blueprints, schematics and technical manuals helpful.

Must be able to explain conditions and situations accurately while troubleshooting, and function with safety, moral end efficiency of the department in mind. Ability to work all shifts and hours as scheduled.

Must comply with all corporate and facility policies and dress code. Must understand written and verbal communications. Good written and oral communications skills required.

Works independently with minimal supervision. Must have knowledge of federal, state, and local codes, specifications, and ordinances.

Depending on facility size, additional duties may include but are not limited to: perform installation and maintenance of mechanical and stationary systems, including boiler operations, to ensure a safe and efficient environment; maintain campus grounds and perform other outside maintenance duties; perform general duties such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and bed repair and maintenance.

May require on-call duties as needed or as directed by the department.
