Job summary

Altria is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic in Hopkinsville, KY to support Production Operations, Quality, Safety and CC&S. You will maintain and repair mechanical plant equipment, facilities and grounds across shifts.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED with 3+ years of mechanical experience, strong problem solving, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs in a fast-paced, regulated environment. You will follow safety rules, read schematics, and document work in a computer system.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and 3+ years mechanical experience.
• Pursue continuing education to stay current with industry changes.
• Work independently, follow instructions, and cooperate with others.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Intermediate digital literacy including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on motors, conveyors, and production machines.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions and identify root causes.
• Trend performance data for continuous improvement opportunities.
• Repair equipment using welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, HVAC, and PLC I/O.
• Read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings; follow manuals.
• Document maintenance work in the computer system.
• Maintain organized work area and uphold safety and quality standards.
• Participate in team meetings and communicate findings.
