Job summary

INEOS Pigments USA in Ashtabula, Ohio operates a 24/7 manufacturing complex. A Maintenance Mechanic will maintain, service and repair equipment, troubleshoot processes, and ensure safety compliance with company procedures.

The role requires a high school diploma and about 2.5 years of plant maintenance experience, especially with pneumatic and hydraulic systems, pumps, valves, seals, and bearings. Training and mentoring may be provided.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2.5 years of plant manufacturing maintenance experience required, preferably in a chemical plant environment.
  • Experience maintaining pneumatic and hydraulic systems, tube bending and make-up, pipe fitting practices, flange make-up and torque techniques.
  • Experience rebuilding and troubleshooting pumps, packing, seals/mechanical seals and bearings.
  • Experience with lubrication, principles, characteristics, additives, and handling, bearings, installation, inspection.
  • Valve Repair – gate, globe, butterfly, ball, check and relief.
  • Mechanical Aptitude – use of precision measurement tools and assembly techniques.
  • General plant safety awareness. OSHA 30 hr. general industry safety certificate preferred.
  • MS Office Suite and SAP proficiency

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and process. Report deviations, equipment failures, and hazards; and assist in plant investigations and problem resolutions.
  • Use company computer systems to obtain spare parts for equipment repairs, and complete documentation/reports as required.
  • Provide training and mentoring for other maintenance personnel; participate in team projects and share continuous improvement ideas.
  • Identify and share continuous improvement ideas to enhance equipment reliability, safety, and process improvements and cost reduction.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards and safe working practices; identify, correct and report hazards.
  • Establish and share maintenance best practices.
  • Follow Process Safety & Behavioral Principles and Life Saving Rules.
  • Complete reports and documentation accurately.
  • Review and follow departmental rules, policies, and guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.
  • Adhere to Safety Principles and Life Saving Rules. Overtime possible.

NATURE OF DUTIES

As a Maintenance Mechanic at INEOS Pigments, you will be responsible for the maintenance, service, and repair of manufacturing equipment in a twenty-four hour/ seven day continuously operated facility. This an hourly position. M-F day shift with potential to end up on a 12-hour rotating shift schedule. It is classified as a Safety Critical Role. Safely and efficiently maintain/repair manufacturing and utilities equipment in accordance with company policies and procedures.

  • Monitor and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and process. Report deviations, equipment failures, and hazards; and assist in plant investigations and problem resolutions.

  • Participate and successfully complete training and development activities. Provide on-the-job training and mentoring for other maintenance personnel as required.

  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping, display safe working practices in all duties and identify, correct and report hazardous situations.
  • Establish and share maintenance best practices.
  • Ensure adherence to the INEOS Pigments Process and Behavioral Safety Principles and Life Saving Rules.
  • Complete reports and documentation accurately as required.
  • Review, comprehend and follow all Departmental rules, policies, and guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.
  • Must adhere to the INEOS Pigments Process Safety & Behavioral Principles and Life Saving Rules.

Overtime and/or shift work when scheduled will be required. Will be required to maintain safety and housekeeping in the areas, follow plant procedures, and perform other duties as required or assigned. This is a safety critical role.
