voestalpine Roll Forming Corporation in Jeffersonville, IN is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic A - Electrical for the 3rd shift. The role includes troubleshooting, repairing electrical controls, and maintaining machinery to ensure optimal performance.

Qualifications

• 5 years' experience in related industrial maintenance roles including hydraulics, mechanical, electrical machine control and/or PLCs.
• Ability to weld/metal fabrication as part of maintenance tasks.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with maintenance tools and equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair industrial equipment and electrical/electronic components; read schematics.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs frequently; 50 lbs occasionally.
• US Person (meets ITAR/EAR requirements).

Responsibilities

• Repairs and maintains buildings, machinery, and mechanical equipment, including electrical functions.
• Observes devices in operation and locates causes of trouble; dismantles parts as needed.
• Repairs/replaces defective parts and installs functional components.
• Operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to repair parts.
• Completes training on new and existing equipment.
• May specialize in mechanical, electrical, electronics, HVAC or hydraulics; general knowledge of all areas.
• Ensures compliance with quality, ISO and OSHA standards.
• Applies electrical knowledge to test equipment and control circuitry for malfunctions.
• Assembles and tests motor control devices, switch panels, transformers, solenoids, etc.
• Diagnoses causes of electrical/mechanical malfunctions and performs preventative/corrective maintenance.
• Must have lock out tag out training and be able to train other technicians.
• Maintains documentation and uses maintenance tracking systems.

Salary Range: $31.00 To $36.00 Annually

We're seeking a versatile 3rd shift team member who enjoys trouble-shooting and machine repair in an industrial setting. We're expanding our team & hiring!

What You'll Be Doing:

R epairs and maintains buildings, machinery, and mechanical equipment, to include performing electrical functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Others as assigned.

• Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble. Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
• Repairs and maintains equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturers' specifications using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Repairs and replaces defective parts. Installs special functional and structural parts.
• May set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
• Completes training on new and existing equipment.
• May specialize in one or more of the following areas, but would not be required to have specialized knowledge in all areas: mechanical, electrical, electronics, HVAC and hydraulics. In all cases would have general knowledge of all areas.
• Complies with all quality and ISO standards and OSHA standards
• Applies electrical knowledge to test electrical equipment and controls circuitry to determine causes of malfunction.
• Assembles and tests motor control devices, switch panels, transformers, solenoids, and other electrical equipment and components according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principals.
• Diagnose cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and performs preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Must have lock out tag out training and able to train other technicians.

Schedule:

3rd Shift: 11PM - 7:30AM, Monday through Friday. Overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• 5 years' experience in related industrial maintenance roles that includes familiarity with: hydraulics, mechanical, electrical machine control and/or PLCs
• welding/metal fabrication
• manufacturing environment
• maintenance tools and equipment
• Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair industrial equipment. Must also have ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical or electronic equipment and components; read and understand electrical and machine schematics.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. frequently; 50 lbs. occasionally
• Computer skills – able to navigate various software, including manufacturing software and maintenance tracking systems.
• US Person (meets ITAR/EAR requirements)

Preferred

• Two-year technical degree or vocational training in industrial maintenance
• Familiarity of NEMA standards and UL Listings practices
• Master Electrician License or similar
• Experience with welding, robotic welding or metal forming equipment including bending, cutting or roll forming.
