We are seeking a highly motivated, self-driven Maintenance Mechanic to join our team!

Job Summary

The Maintenance Mechanic will lead mechanical troubleshooting and repairs to ensure equipment runs smoothly and downtime is minimized. The role includes supporting other maintenance team members with repairs and projects as directed by the department manager.

Essential Job Functions

1. Lead mechanical troubleshooting and repairs including:

• Identify and repair air, water, glue, and oil leaks
• Identify and repair steam leaks
• Troubleshoot and repair pumps and pump systems
• Work on pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• Troubleshoot, repair, and replace cylinders
• Work with various mechanical hardware
• Fabricate and repair damaged parts using welding, fastening, machining, etc.
• Assist with mechanical preventive maintenance
• Disassemble and reassemble machinery and equipment
• Work with bushings, bearings, sprockets, chains, belts, pulleys, and tensioners
• Understand and apply tolerances, square, and parallel measurements
• Set up and rig for roll changes and larger repairs
• Read schematics and mechanical prints
• Diagnose machine problems and determine repair actions

Perform basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs

In addition, employees are expected to exercise honesty, integrity, and respect, maintain a professional appearance, communicate effectively, work accurately and efficiently, maintain good attendance, work safely, keep the work environment clean, and show initiative in learning new skills and assisting co-workers. The employee may be assigned other duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred
• At least 8 years of industrial electrical experience
• Valid driver’s license preferred
• Good communication skills for interacting with contractors, service techs, and colleagues
• Understanding of structural, electrical, and plumbing systems in an industrial setting
• Willingness to work additional hours and weekends as needed
• Willingness to attend training for skill improvement

Machines/Tools/Equipment

Hand and power tools, hammer drills, concrete equipment, lathe, mill, drill, band saw, welders, hydraulic presses, computer, office equipment, tow motor, etc.

Safety

Follow all safety guidelines, including GMP and Food Safety practices.

Working Conditions

Work around machinery and loud noise in a manufacturing environment, with exposure to varying temperatures and possible outdoor work in all weather conditions.
