Qualifications

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Installations and overhauls to equipment including rewinders, sheeters and trimmers.
• Operate basic electrical circuits, motors, gears, pumps and clutches.
• Perform light machining, preventive maintenance, welding and fabrication.
• Follow manuals, schematics and manufacturer directions.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems on paper processing equipment.
• Assist with installations, overhauls and alignments of rewinders, sheeters and trimmers.
• Perform preventive maintenance, light machining, welding and fabrication as needed.
• Follow written instructions and safety procedures accurately.

Job description

Title: Maintenance Mechanic - 3rd Shift
Location: Alsip, IL

National, well established printing paper distributor and convertor has an opening for an experienced maintenance mechanic on our 3rd shift.This is an excellent opportunity to work for North America’s largest converter and distributor of fine printing and packaging paper.

Starting hourly rate: $30.00 - $35.00/ hr

Requirements

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic & pneumatic systems.
• Installations and overhauls to equipment, machinery and facilities, including rewinders, sheeters and trimmers.
• Hydraulic & pneumatic systems, basic electrical circuits, motors, gears, compressors, pumps, clutches and brakes.
• Perform other tasks such as light machining, preventive maintenance, cleaning and lubricating parts as well as welding and fabricating parts.
• Ability to follow written instructions from manuals, schematics, specifications and manufacturer’s directions required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience.

Knowledge in a paper converting facility or similar industry setting preferred but not required.

MUST BE ABLE TO COMPLETE PRE EMPLOYMENT BACKGROUND, DRUG, AND PHYSICAL SCREENINGS.
