The Maintenance Mechanic supports the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of Trinity Health facilities by performing preventive maintenance, repair, and servicing of building systems, equipment, and infrastructure. This role assists with grounds upkeep and responds to departmental service requests to help maintain a functional, comfortable, and compliant environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Working as part of a collaborative facilities team, the Maintenance Mechanic troubleshoots mechanical issues, responds to service calls, and supports fleet vehicle maintenance as assigned.
This role requires frequent walking, standing, bending, climbing, and lifting or carrying materials and equipment. The mechanic must be able to operate tools and machinery safely, perform tasks at various heights or in confined spaces, and meet physical demands associated with maintenance and repair activities. Adequate vision, hearing, and manual dexterity are necessary to complete detailed mechanical tasks.
Work occurs in both indoor and outdoor environments and may involve exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, varying temperatures, and moving equipment. The position requires adherence to safety protocols, use of personal protective equipment, and awareness of surroundings to minimize risk. The mechanic may be required to work in inclement weather or respond to urgent maintenance needs outside standard hours.
