Lakeshore Learning Materials in Garland, UT is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to keep our distribution center running safely and reliably. You’ll work with a hands-on team to maintain conveyors, motors, sensors, and related equipment.

The role requires 2+ years in warehouse or light industrial settings, tool use, and forklift certification (or willingness to obtain). It’s a fully onsite position with overtime as needed, and Lakeshore offers strong benefits.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on conveyor systems, motors, sensors, and related equipment following established procedures.
• Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical and mechanical issues on material-handling components.
• Maintain and repair racking, shelving, dock levelers, and overhead doors.
• Complete routine facility maintenance tasks and support janitorial needs as they arise.
• Monitor forklift battery water levels and ensure timely charging; follow safety policies.

Job Description

Our distribution center in Garland, UT keeps classrooms stocked with the tools educators and children need to learn and grow - and you help make that possible. As a Maintenance Mechanic, you'll keep our facility and material-handling equipment running safely and reliably, working alongside a hands-on team. If you like solving mechanical puzzles and take pride in a well-running facility, this role is a great fit.

A day on the job looks like this

• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on conveyor systems, motors, sensors, and related material-handling equipment following established procedures and plans
• Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical and mechanical issues on material-handling components, including photo eyes, relays, solenoids, and motor starters
• Maintain and repair racking, shelving, dock levelers, and overhead doors to keep operations moving safely
• Complete routine facility maintenance tasks and support janitorial needs as they arise
• Monitor forklift battery water levels and ensure timely, correct chargingFollow all safety and loss-prevention policies and procedures, contributing to a safe work environment for the whole team

Qualifications

Required

• 2+ years of experience in a warehouse, facilities, or light industrial environment or an equivalent combination of technical training and hands-on experience
• Ability to use hand and power tools effectively and safely
• Comfortable working in varied physical conditions including heat, cold, dust, noise, elevated heights, and extended time on concrete surfaces
• Forklift-certified or willing to obtain certification after hire
• Able to work occasional overtime, weekends, or off-shift hours as the season requires
• This is a fully onsite role located in Garland, UT

Preferred

• Coursework or certification in industrial maintenance, electrical systems, or a related trade program
• Familiarity with forklift repair and basic troubleshooting
• Graduates of Bridgerland Tech College strongly preferred
