KIK Consumer Products in West Palm Beach, FL is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic 2 to keep high-speed packaging lines running. The role requires applying mechanical, electrical, and TPM skills to set up equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform major overhauls while maintaining GMP and safety standards.

You will cover shifts, participate in preventive maintenance, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• 4 years mechanical experience in high-speed packaging/manufacturing environment (food industry preferred)
• Associates degree in electronics or Electrical Diploma/Certificate or 5+ years related experience
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Good knowledge of preventative maintenance programs
• Flexible to work shift (days, afternoons, nights)
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Strong health & safety and Lockout procedures knowledge
• Experience with CMMS software is a plus
• Attention to detail with customer service attitude
• Strong team player with problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Reads and follows technical manuals and documents changes for setup and adjustments.
• Performs necessary repairs to keep equipment in top running order.
• Able to perform major mechanical overhauls of packaging equipment.
• Troubleshoots electrical and motor problems and checks system configurations.
• Performs preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Assists in designing modifications and implements approved changes.
• Works in accordance with procedures and safety/GMP policies.
• Provides coverage for mechanics on other shifts as needed.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Sets up production equipment to run scheduled production
• Discusses difficulties in operating equipment with machine operators toisolate problems, and then troubleshoots machine to determine cause and repairsrequired.
• Must be able to read and follow directions as found in technical manuals aswell as be able to document any and all changes they are involved in. so as torefer back to the notes and records a thereby gain understanding as to how toset up lines an adjust machines and conveyors as needed.
• Performs necessary repairs on equipment to keep it in top running order.
• Must be able to perform major mechanical overhauls of some packaging equipment
• Must be able to troubleshoot electrical and motor problems. This includesdetermining if a motor or electrical system, is functioning properly and isconfigured properly.
• Carries out required preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Assists in determining required design modifications and makes approvedmodifications to equipment.
• Performs tasks in accordance with approved procedures and following all safetyprocedures and gmp's.
• Provides coverage for mechanics on other shifts, as needed.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision as well as in a team setting.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

• Minimum 4 years mechanical experience in a high-speed packaging and/ormanufacturing environment (food industry is highly preferred)
• Associates degree in electronic field and/or Electrical Diploma/Certificatewith at least 3 years of experience OR 5+ years of proven experience in relatedfield is highly desirable.
• Possess strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
• Good knowledge of preventative maintenance programs
• Must be flexible to work Shift Work (days, afternoons, nights)
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with lots of changes
• Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety and Lockout Procedures
• Working knowledge of computerized maintenance management software’s an asset
• Must pay attention to details with a customer service attitude
• Strong team player with excellent problem-solving skills
