Job summary

Reworld is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to perform preventive and reactive maintenance on industrial equipment at our New York-area facility. You will follow the maintenance schedule, document work orders, and collaborate with production teams to keep the facility running safely and efficiently.

The role requires 2–4 years in heavy industry, a high school diploma (or equivalent), and the ability to work a rotating shift. We offer competitive pay, health benefits, PTO, and a 401(k) match.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance per schedule to prevent breakdowns of equipment and downtime.
• Utilize root-cause analysis to investigate breakdowns and line stoppages with teams and stakeholders.
• Prioritize work to minimize downtime and ensure repair and installation of equipment; complete paperwork and documentation.
• Open and close work orders and manage spare parts in the plant’s maintenance system.
• Repair and maintain operating machinery, including inspection, assembly, disassembly, and replacement as needed.
• Observe and evaluate machinery to diagnose malfunctions using mechanical methods.
• Review maintenance reports and plan/modify activities accordingly.
• Inspect machines for conformance with safety and performance standards.

About the role

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for the planned, unplanned, and preventative maintenance tasks required to ensure safe and efficient operational effectiveness of equipment and systems which enable Reworld's industrial disposal process.

Position Responsibilities

• Effectively complete preventive maintenance tasks per maintenance schedule to prevent breakdowns of equipment and operational downtime
• Utilize root-cause analysis skills to investigate breakdown and line stoppages collaborating with various teams and stakeholders
• Prioritize work to ensure timely maintenance, repair and installation of equipment, tools, and utility systems to minimize production downtime and complete all required paperwork and documentation in the company's computerized maintenance documentation program
• Utilize Reworld's defined maintenance documentation program to open and close out work orders, check out spare parts, and other activities as required in the plant.
• Repair and/or maintain the operating condition of industrial production or processing machinery or equipment including inspection, assembly, disassembly, and replacement as necessary
• Observe and evaluate the operation of machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions utilizing mechanical devices
• Review maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities
• Inspect operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational and safety performance standards.

Position Requirements & Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred
• A minimum of 2-4 years’ experience in a heavy industrial/manufacturing environment
• Must have the ability to work a rotating shift schedule

Pay Transparency

Reworld is committed to paying its staff equitably, and we strive to provide competitive compensation and benefits packages. The range below reflects Reworld's reasonable estimate of base pay for this role based on primary posting location. It is expected that most qualified candidates in this location will fall within the posting range. The final salary offered for this role will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to: experience, education, geographic location, skills and competencies, travel requirements and/or union contracts (if applicable). Pay ranges are reviewed from time to time and may be modified in the future.

The pay range for the primary location of this position is: 43.85 - 58.37 USD per hour
