Job summary

EMD Electronics seeks a Maintenance Mechanic to support production by ensuring safe operation of machinery in a fast-paced setting. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting of pumps, compressors, and gear boxes, and basic building upkeep.

Qualified candidates have 3+ years in industrial maintenance, knowledge of electrical fundamentals, and experience with safety permits and lock-out/tag-out procedures. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 3+ years industrial maintenance experience.
• Fundamental knowledge of basic electricity and mechanical systems.
• Experience with safety work permits and lock-out/tag-out procedures.
• Experience with rotating equipment maintenance (pumps, compressors, gearboxes).

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on rotating equipment and building systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions using manuals and schematics.
• Maintain a safe, organized work environment and document activity in work orders.
• Communicate job status and observations; participate in overtime as needed.

Your Role:

At EMD Electronics, the Maintenance Mechanic will support production and quality goals by ensuring safe and reliable operation of machinery and mechanical equipment in a fast paced and dynamic work environment. Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on rotating equipment to include pumps, reciprocating compressors, agitators, gear boxes, and process refrigeration systems. Perform basic building maintenance throughout the site. Utilize diagrams, sketches, OEM manuals, and engineering specifications to troubleshoot and repair malfunctions. Effectively communicate job status, document job activities and observations. Accurately perform inventory transactions. Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with site procedures and safety programs. Day‑shift position but includes opportunity for scheduled and emergency overtime on nights and weekends. Transition to a rotating shift possible.

Physical Attributes:

Work in confined spaces and at heights of 60 feet. Use of hand and power tools including precision measuring instruments. Operate fork lift and/or aerial work platforms.

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED3+ years previous industrial maintenance experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Trade School certificate OR participation in a union mechanical apprenticeship programPrior experience with safety work permits and lock-out / tag-out proceduresPrior process chemical plant experienceFundamental knowledge of basic electricityFundamental knowledge of Mill, Drill, and Lathe Operations including understanding of Dimension, Tolerance, and FitExperience with rolling Element & Journal bearing replacement & maintenance, Static & Dynamic Seal maintenance, and Couplings, Drives & AlignmentProficiency with Oxy-Acetylene TorchesPipe Fitting experience including functional knowledge of materials, fittings, and threadingComputer skills to review and record maintenance history in work orders

Pay Rate for this position:

$35.15
