Job summary

Doncasters Storms Forge in Springfield, MA is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic to keep production equipment safe, reliable, and efficient. The role requires hands-on troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, with collaboration across site teams.

The position offers a daytime schedule (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM) and a pay range of $24.00–$30.00 per hour, depending on experience. Candidates should bring prior industrial maintenance experience and PLC familiarity.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial equipment in manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, electro-mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
• Experience with PLC-controlled equipment or PLC knowledge.

The Role

Doncasters Storms Forge is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in Springfield, MA. The expected hours for this position are 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, with a pay range of $24.00 - $30.00 per hour, based on experience.

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will help ensure our production equipment and facility operate safely, reliably, and efficiently. You will perform hands-on troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repairs across mechanical, electrical, electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

You will also collaborate with multiple departments across the site to identify equipment issues, minimize downtime, and keep machinery operating at full capacity.

• Maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems

  What You’ll Bring

  To succeed in this role, you will have previous experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment.

  You will also bring:

  • Previous industrial maintenance experience
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, electro-mechanical, and pneumatic equipment
  • Experience working with PLC-controlled equipment or a working knowledge of PLCs
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to diagnose equipment problems and identify effective solutions
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Experience with industrial equipment installations
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel
  • Technical certification in mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, or a related field
  • Traditional apprenticeship completion and/or equivalent technical education
  • Welding and fabrication experience
  • Low-voltage electrical experience
  • HVAC experience

  • Ideally you will have completed an Advanced Apprenticeship or HNC equivalent in in Electrical engineering with a good PLC knowledge in programming, fault finding and diagnosis.
