About You

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join our manufacturing plant team. As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our facility. Your primary responsibility will be to perform maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on various equipment and systems within the plant.

What Will Be Expected

This is a fast-paced job that requires you to stand and work in a cold and wet environment. The temperature inside of the processing area may vary in range and can be as low as 40 degrees.

Maintenance Mechanic Duties

  • Conduct preventive maintenance tasks on machinery, equipment, and systems to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and implement appropriate repairs.
  • Perform routine inspections of equipment and machinery to identify potential problems and address them proactively.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from different departments and prioritize tasks based on urgency.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance team members and provide technical support when needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and equipment condition.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and suggest innovative solutions to enhance equipment performance and reliability.

Work Schedule

We need people who can meet the attendance requirements which may include weekend work and overtime. You must be willing and able to work extended hours and weekends, which may include both Saturday and Sunday, in peak periods.

Candidates must be able to work between the below hours.

Available Shifts

Shift 1: 4:00 am - 4:00 pm

Shift 2: 3:00 pm - 3:00 am

Hours can extend past these times and workers are expected to work until the job is finished.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand constantly; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk and climb stairs. The employee must regularly lift and or move between 25-50 lbs. and occasionally lift between 50-75 lbs. Some positions may require heavier lifting.

Work Environment

The employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Required Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or vocational training is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or similar role in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair a wide range of equipment, including conveyors, motors, pumps, and compressors.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends.

Benefits

Salary Disclosure

The typical salary pay range for this role is $52,000 - $62,400 per year. Individual base pay depends on various factors such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills.
