Job summary

B&H Photo Video is seeking a Maintenance MHE Mechanic to maintain and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical aspects of Material Handling Equipment on site, including conveyors, packaging and automation lines. The role requires hands-on skills with electrical and mechanical systems and a strong focus on safety.

The technician will work on 2nd or 3rd shifts, perform proactive maintenance, and document work using handheld devices and asset management software.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining material handling equipment (MHE) and conveyors.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical components.
• Knowledge of OSHA or safety standards and PPE usage.

Responsibilities

• Adjust scanners, cameras, field buses, scales and printer applicators.
• Reset, repair, or replace belts, chains, cables, guides, bearings, wheels, rollers, pulleys.
• Clean, lubricate, and calibrate equipment.
• Follow job plans, procedures, and manuals for maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Maintain and troubleshoot motors, sensors, relays, solenoids, tachometers, encoders.
• Use handheld devices and asset management apps to create and close work orders with data.

2nd Shift – Monday to Thursday 3:45pm-1145pm & Sunday 9am-6pm

3rd Shift – Monday to Thursday (9am – 7pm)

Job Overview:

The Maintenance MHE Mechanicwill maintain and troubleshoot all electrical and mechanical aspects of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) on site, including conveyor systems, tape machines, bubble machines, box erectors, I-Pack packaging machines and bubble inserters

Essential Responsibilities:

• Adjust scanners, cameras, field buses, scales and printer applicators
• Reset, repair, or replace adjustable components (belts, chains, cables) and wear components
  guides, bearings, wheels, rollers, pulleys)
• Clean, lubricate, and calibrate equipment
• Use appropriate job plans, procedures, and manuals to conduct maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Maintain and troubleshoot motors, photo eyes, relays, proximity sensors, solenoids, motor
  starters, tachometers, encoders, etc.
• Utilize handheld devices and asset management system mobile apps to create and close Work
  Orders with appropriate data (labor hours, downtime, problem/cause/remedy, and parts used)
• Follow appropriate safety procedures and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while
  maintaining equipment (Lock Out/Tag Out, Arc Flash, etc.), and ensure a safe work environment by
  eliminating potential equipment safety hazards

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships across all levels of the organization
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and ability to follow them
• Must be able to work under pressure and exercise good judgement
• PC competency and ability to use mobile apps on handheld devices

Preferred Education, Experience and Licenses:

• Education/course work in Mechanical or Electrical field preferred required
• 5+ years’ experience with automated conveyors, industrial controls, PLC programs and MHE safety standards.
• Basic metal fabrication and welding
