Job Description
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for providing hands‑on mechanical maintenance in an industrial manufacturing facility. All work must be done in accordance with all safety, and best manufacturing practices in an efficient manner.
Job Type: Full time, onsite
Compensation: Hourly rate range starting at $32.00, increasing with relevant experience
Responsibilities
- Providing hands‑on mechanical maintenance in an industrial manufacturing facility. All work must be done in accordance with all safety, and best manufacturing practices in an efficient manner
- Must be able to speak, read, and write in English; as well interpret mechanical drawings
- Must be able to read and interpret Material Safety Data Sheets and identify hazardous materials
- The ability to follow a flexible work schedule and maintain a good attendance record
- Ability to align pump and motor units using dial indicators to within .005 of an inch
- Repair mechanical seals in pumps
- Trouble shoot hydraulic systems including hydraulic control valves
- The ability to operate motorized equipment such as a Forklift, boom lifts, and aerial man lifts
- Must be able to read dial indicators and calipers
- Experience in repairing overhead cranes, including wire rope replacement
- Experience in troubleshooting pipe and valve train issues
- Able to demonstrate respect for all individuals and adhere to the Company’s values and business practices
- Working in a team/group environment
- Run screw piping
- Replace bearings in multiple types of rotating equipment
- Other duties as directed by the supervisor
- Action Corrective and Preventative maintenance per (BOS-06) in MaintMaster System; update system as required
Qualifications
- A minimum of five years’ experience in an industrial maintenance environment; with emphasis on hydraulic, pneumatic and overhead crane systems preferred
- Proficiency in pump and motor dial indicator alignment, and pump repair
- Proficiency in precise measurement systems in SAE and Metric units
- Proficiency in root cause analysis of mechanical and electrical systems
- Have man lift and overhead crane operations and maintenance experience
- Welding and fabrication experience preferred
- Basic computer skills required
- Knowledge of working with Personal Protective Equipment such as Tyvek, respirators, safety glasses, and ear protection preferred
- Knowledge of Lock Out/Tag Out procedures and confined space working experience preferred
- Experience with proper operations of Hydraulic control valves, and hydraulic pumps preferred
- Experience rebuilding gear reducers, pumps, and piping trains preferred
- Ability to properly run screw piping preferred
- Ability to replace bearings as needed in rotating equipment preferred
- Experience in replacing motors, and troubleshooting electrical starters preferred

Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, walk, talk, listen, bend, and use hands to operate hand and power tools for extended periods of time
- Regularly required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, or kneel; as well as climb ladders to a height not exceeding 50 ft
- Required to maintain a high level of alertness
- Required to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, ear protection, approved steel-toed boots
- May be required to wear a half-face or full-face respirator, and wear Tyvek suits
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be required to travel to multiple local work sites
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to excessive heat, fumes, industrial dust and airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibrations
- The noise level in the work environment can be loud
- Trelleborg is a non-smoking property. The use of tobacco is not allowed onsite including outside of the facility
