Job summary

Boar's Head Brand is seeking a mechanically skilled individual to maintain plant equipment and perform preventive maintenance. The role includes a variety of duties delegated by the lead person, supervisor, or manager and requires completing a general knowledge placement test with a satisfactory score.

Responsibilities include inspecting devices, replacing parts, performing welding, operating metalworking tools, and collaborating with teammates to meet quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• CMMS experience or computer literacy preferred.
• Industrial maintenance experience preferred.
• Knowledge of basic industrial mechanical systems, electricity and utilities.
• Ability to diagnose industrial mechanical systems, equipment and utilities problems.
• Strong knowledge of shop equipment setup and operation.
• Welding experience (TIG or stick) preferred.
• Attend required vendor training as needed.

Responsibilities

• Observes mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of trouble.
• Dismantles devices to access and replace defective parts.
• Examines parts for imperfections and checks dimensions.
• Inspects used parts for dimensional changes.
• Adjusts functional parts and control instruments.
• Repairs or replaces defective parts.
• Installs special functional and structural parts.
• Lubricates and cleans parts.
• Starts devices to test performance.
• Sets up and operates drill press, grinder and other metalworking tools.
• Works as a team to meet product specs safely and efficiently.
• Communicates well with team members.
• Assists other departments as needed.
• Follows GMPs, SOPs, plant rules and codes of conduct.
• Follows written and oral instructions.

• Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
• Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
• Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
• Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
• Repairs or replaces defective parts.
• Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
• Lubricates and cleans parts.
• Starts devices to test their performance.
• Sets up and operates drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
• Responsible for performing tasks as described and assigned by the department lead/supervisor.

Qualifications

• Industrial maintenance experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of basic industrial mechanical systems, electricity and utilities
• Ability to diagnose industrial mechanical systems, equipment and utilities problems
• Strong knowledge of shop equipment set up and operation
• Strong TIG or stick welding experience
• Attend required vendor training as needed

Rate Of Pay

Hourly rate TBD (depending on experience and placement test results) Position has the opportunity to receive step increases through Boar’s Head established training programs.
