Job summary

Knauf Insulation is seeking a maintenance technician to keep a heavy industrial line safe and productive. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, and coordinate parts while prioritizing safety and reliability.

You will work with cross-shift teams, log issues, and participate in trainings to stay current on plant updates. A strong track record in maintenance and PLC/automation is essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in a heavy industrial environment.
  • PLC experience is required.
  • Automated technician experience is required.
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
  • Observe safety procedures, report unsafe conditions, and use equipment properly.
  • Basic math skills including mental calculation of simple equations/fractions.

Responsibilities

  • Champion safe work practices and follow lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Decide when to pull equipment for repair to minimize downtime.
  • Perform scheduled and on-demand preventive maintenance to keep lines running.
  • Requisition and track parts and materials so teams have what they need.
  • Respond promptly to safety warnings and take corrective action.
  • Document issues and communicate across shifts; keep logs up to date.
  • Maintain a clean, organized maintenance area and store tools properly.
  • Be dependable: arrive on time and work required hours, including overtime.

About the Role:

Join us to keep a high-performing plant safe and running! You’ll champion LOTO and safe practices, pull equipment for service when needed, perform preventive maintenance, and secure parts to cut downtime. You’ll communicate across shifts, log issues, keep an organized shop, and respond to safety warnings. Punctuality and flexibility for overtime/occasional shift coverage required—stay engaged in safety meetings and pitch in on other projects.

Responsibilities

  • Requisition and track parts and materials, so teams have what they need.
  • Act quickly on safety warnings and signals; take corrective action.
  • Keep operations connected by communicating across shifts and documenting in Maintenance and Production logbooks.
  • Maintain a clean, organized maintenance area; store tools and supplies before breaks and at shift end.
  • Be dependable: arrive on time, work required hours including mandatory overtime and occasionally cover other shifts.
  • Stay current on plant and safety updates; participate in meetings and trainings.
  • Pitch in on other duties and projects as needed.
  • Drive the highest levels of employee retention and engagement to ensure a sustainable workforce.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability within the organization.
  • Instill an environment of inclusion, where all employees feel that they can contribute and impact the company in a positive manner.
Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain current OSHA Certified Industrial Truck Operator License.

Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of maintenance experience working with a variety of mechanical equipment in a heavy industrial environment.
  • PLC experience is required.
  • Automated technician experience required.

To perform this job successfully, individuals must demonstrate the following:

  • Observe safety and security procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions, and use equipment and materials properly.
  • Accurately count and perform basic math functions, including mental calculation of simple equations and/or fractions.
  • Must be able to sufficiently read, write, and understand English.
