Job summary

DICK’S Sporting Goods in Newark, DE is seeking a Maintenance Technician to install, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment, conveyors, PLCs, hydraulics and pneumatics. You will follow PM schedules, document work in the asset management system, and ensure safe operation in a fast-paced distribution center.

Responsibilities include spare-parts reporting, training junior technicians, coordinating with outside vendors, and supporting the DC’s operational needs.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent technical certificate preferred
• 2-year vocational/technical certificate or degree in mechanical or electrical applications
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in maintenance
• Welding, burning, and cutting experience
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, gear boxes and PLC controls
• Familiar with DC-specific software packages and equipment
• Able to read electrical/mechanical drawings and schematics
• Good safety awareness and ability to work safely
• Capable of lifting up to 75 lbs and standing for long periods
• Experience with LOTO procedures

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety requirements (OSHA, LOTO) and PM standards
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment including conveyors and PLC-driven systems
• Document spare parts usage and maintenance activities in asset management system
• Train junior technicians to elevate performance
• Collaborate with outside vendors to complete DC projects safely and timely
• Support DC operations and other duties as needed

OVERVIEW

Shift: 2B: Tuesday - Friday 5:30p - 3:30a Rate: $29.55/hr. + $1/hr. shift dif

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Adhere to all safety requirements including OSHA standards with regards to LOTO and safe work practices.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all equipment related to the facility and conveyance systems within the facility. Follow PM standards and document work performed for accurate record keeping in our asset management system. Areas of expertise must include PLC’s, conveyors, 3 phase electric, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, and any other related equipment.
• Accurately report spare parts inventory levels and daily parts usage to Maintenance leadership to help ensure spare parts inventory is maintained.
• Assist in teammate development by training junior technicians in order to elevate their performance level while troubleshooting and repairing any related assets.
• Work closely with outside vendors in order to complete projects within the DCs in a safe and timely manor.
• Take on other duties as needed to support the DC and it’s operational needs

Qualifications

• Familiar with DC-specific specialized software packages (ex. Crown PM, Gage) & equipment
• Able to read & understand electrical mechanical building type drawings/schematics
• Good safety awareness
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull & lift up to 75 lbs.
• Experience with LOTO

Targeted Pay Range

$29.55 - $42.90. Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, location, experience and position offered. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.
