Position Summary

This position is for a maintenance mechanic to assist with the day-to-day operation of machinery repairs. It also includes monitoring water systems.

Essential Job Functions

• 5-10 years of hands-on mechanical experience
• Commitment to personal and team safety
• Ability to read mechanical blueprints, identify parts, and research part numbers
• Basic knowledge of large horsepower mechanical drive systems, including gear box reducers, belts, pulleys, chains, and sprockets
• Excellent mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of basic mechanical power transmission components such as belts, chains, sprockets, bearings, and shaft couplings
• Knowledge of pumps, valves, and piping systems
• Experience repairing various piping systems, including black iron, stainless steel, brass, and plastic
• Ability to operate a Bridgeport mill, lathe, and perform basic welding
• Ability to collaborate with maintenance team members and machine operators on projects and process improvements
• Ability to work independently and make informed decisions
• Follow safety protocols and work effectively
• Willingness to work overtime when necessary
• Basic computer skills; basic electrical knowledge is a plus
• Ability to quickly develop creative solutions to technical challenges
