Position Summary

This position is for a maintenance mechanic to assist with the day-to-day operation of machinery repairs. It also includes monitoring water systems.

Essential Job Functions

1. 5-10 years of hands-on mechanical experience.
2. Commitment to personal safety and the safety of others.
3. Ability to read mechanical blueprints, identify parts, and research part numbers.
4. Basic knowledge of large HP mechanical drive systems including gear box reducers, belts, pulleys, chains, and sprockets.
5. Excellent mechanical troubleshooting skills.
6. Knowledge of basic mechanical power transmission components such as belts, chains, sprockets, bearings, and shaft couplings.
7. Knowledge of pumps, valves, and piping.
8. Ability to repair various piping systems including black iron, stainless steel, brass, and plastic.
9. Ability to operate a Bridgeport, lathe, and perform basic welding.
10. Ability to collaborate with maintenance team members and machine operators to implement projects and process improvements.
11. Ability to work independently and make decisions.
12. Ability to follow instructions and work safely and efficiently.
13. Willingness to work overtime when needed.
14. Basic computer skills; basic electrical knowledge is a plus.
15. Ability to generate creative solutions to technical challenges quickly.

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Ability to follow directions.
3. Self-motivated.
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a skilled team.
5. Basic electrical skills.
6. Mechanical aptitude.
