The Campbell's Company in Lakeland Plant is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic II to keep production and facilities running safely and efficiently. You will perform advanced maintenance, troubleshoot complex issues, and lead preventive maintenance on critical equipment in a fast-paced food production environment.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience, strong hydraulics/pneumatics knowledge, PLC diagnostics, and the ability to read blueprints.

Qualificações

  • Demonstrated industrial maintenance experience, 5+ years preferred.
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot mechanical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, and drive systems.
  • Experience with conveyors, packaging machinery, and high-speed production equipment.
  • Proficient in electrical troubleshooting up to 480V and PLC diagnostics (ladder logic).
  • Fabrication, welding, machining, and precision alignment skills essential.

Responsabilidades

  • Troubleshoot, repair, install, and overhaul mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Maintain high-speed packaging equipment, processing systems, ovens, and conveyors.
  • Perform precision mechanical work: bearing installation, shaft/alignment, chain/belt alignment, gearbox rebuilds.
  • Diagnose root causes, document repairs, parts usage, and equipment condition.
  • Fabricate using cutting, welding, machining; conduct preventive and predictive maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems up to 480V; read ladder logic and assist with PLC changes.
  • Maintain VFDs, motor starters, instrumentation, and control wiring.
  • Respond to breakdowns promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Train and mentor Maintenance Mechanic I; follow OSHA, GMP, and food safety standards.
  • Operate forklifts and other industrial equipment; perform other duties as assigned.

Pay: $32.07 to $39.70 per hour
Shift: 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM or 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM

HOW YOU WILL MAKE HISTORY HERE…

As a Maintenance Mechanic II, you will help keep the Lakeland Plant operating safely and efficiently by performing advanced maintenance, complex troubleshooting, and high-level repairs on production and facility equipment. Working with minimal supervision, you will identify root causes, complete precision rebuilds, lead preventive and predictive maintenance activities, and help improve equipment performance and reliability.

WHAT YOU WILL DO…
  • Troubleshoot, repair, install, and overhaul mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Maintain high-speed packaging equipment, processing systems, industrial ovens, conveyors, and related production machinery.
  • Perform precision mechanical work, including:
    • Bearing installation
    • Shaft and coupling alignment
    • Chain and belt alignment
    • Gearbox rebuilds
    • Machine leveling and adjustment
  • Diagnose root causes of equipment failures and recommend effective corrective actions.
  • Document troubleshooting activities, repairs, parts usage, and equipment condition accurately.
  • Perform fabrication work using cutting, welding, machining, and blueprint interpretation skills.
  • Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance activities, including vibration analysis, thermal inspections, lubrication system maintenance, and scheduled equipment rebuilds.
  • Troubleshoot industrial electrical systems up to 480V, including motors, sensors, relays, and control wiring.
  • Perform intermediate PLC diagnostics by reading ladder logic, identifying input and output faults, and assisting with programming changes under appropriate guidance.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and configure variable frequency drives, motor starters, and instrumentation devices.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and complete repairs safely and effectively to minimize production downtime.
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and plant leadership to improve equipment performance, uptime, and reliability.
  • Train and mentor Maintenance Mechanic I team members on maintenance procedures, troubleshooting methods, and technical best practices.
  • Follow all OSHA, GMP, food safety, and plant safety standards.
  • Operate forklifts, hoists, aerial lifts, and other industrial equipment when qualified and authorized.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE… (MUST HAVE)
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least five years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise troubleshooting and repairing mechanical systems, including:
    • Hydraulics
    • Pneumatics
    • Drive systems
    • Conveyors
    • Packaging machinery
  • Strong working knowledge of industrial electrical systems and the ability to troubleshoot equipment operating at up to 480V.
  • Experience performing PLC diagnostics, including reading ladder logic and identifying I/O faults.
  • Advanced skills in machine repair, fabrication, welding, machining, and precision alignment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot motors, sensors, relays, VFDs, motor starters, instrumentation, and control wiring.
  • Proficiency in reading mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
  • Experience performing preventive and predictive maintenance.
  • Strong root cause analysis and equipment troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to respond effectively to breakdowns and make sound repair decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently, collaborate across departments, or lead small groups.
  • Ability to train and mentor less-experienced maintenance team members.
  • Commitment to OSHA requirements, plant safety procedures, GMPs, and food safety standards.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts, hoists, aerial lifts, and other required industrial equipment.
  • Ability to use machine tools, welders, electrical meters, power tools, and small hand tools.
  • Ability to work either the 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM shift or the 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM shift, based on the assigned opening.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE… (NICE TO HAVE)
  • Technical degree, trade school certification, or advanced coursework in industrial maintenance, mechanical systems, electrical technology, mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Maintenance experience in a continuous manufacturing or food production environment.
  • Experience maintaining high-speed packaging and automated processing equipment.
  • Experience working with industrial ovens and food manufacturing systems.
  • Formal training in vibration analysis, thermal imaging, lubrication systems, or other predictive maintenance technologies.
  • Advanced experience rebuilding gearboxes, aligning rotating equipment, and completing precision machine installations.
  • Experience supporting maintenance reliability or Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Experience leading technical repairs or coordinating small maintenance work groups.

Equipment Used:
Personal protective equipment, machine tools, welders, electrical tools and meters, power hand tools, hoists, small hand tools, and forklifts.

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
