Maersk Warehousing & Distribution Services USA LLC is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for our Massachusetts facility in Hopedale. The role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving conveyor systems and material handling equipment in a warehouse environment.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of industrial maintenance experience, hands-on conveyor knowledge, and a proactive approach to safety and reliability. Weekend/shift flexibility may be required.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of industrial maintenance, manufacturing, distribution, warehouse, facilities, or related maintenance experience.
• Experience working with conveyor systems and ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Experience in a warehouse or industrial setting focused on safety and reliability.
• CMMS experience (SAP, Maximo, Fiix, or similar systems).

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain conveyor systems and material handling equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical components including bearings, rollers, belts, chains, sprockets, motors, and gearboxes.
• Assist in troubleshooting basic electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Observe equipment operation and identify potential failures or performance issues.
• Test equipment following repairs to verify safe and proper operation.
• Assist with installation and modification of conveyors and related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance according to schedules and procedures.
• Inspect equipment for wear, damage, lubrication deficiencies, and other maintenance concerns.
• Document maintenance findings and report equipment concerns to maintenance leadership.

#INDEEDMaintenance MechanicPosition SummaryThe Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving conveyor systems and material handling equipment in a warehouse and distribution environment. This role performs preventive and corrective maintenance activities on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and facility equipment to ensure operational reliability and minimize downtime.The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working with conveyor systems and industrial equipment, can independently perform routine troubleshooting and repairs, and is committed to maintaining a safe and efficient operation. The Maintenance Mechanic works closely with Operations, and other Maintenance staff to support equipment reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Equipment Maintenance & RepairTroubleshoot, repair, and maintain conveyor systems and material handling equipment.Diagnose and repair mechanical components including bearings, rollers, belts, chains, sprockets, motors, and gearboxes.Assist in troubleshooting basic electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.Observe equipment operation and identify potential mechanical failures or performance issues.Remove, repair, or replace defective components to restore equipment functionality.Test equipment following repairs to verify safe and proper operation.Assist with installation and modification of conveyors and related equipmentPreventive MaintenancePerform preventive maintenance activities according to established schedules and procedures.Inspect equipment for wear, damage, misalignment, lubrication deficiencies, and other maintenance concerns.Complete lubrication, belt adjustments, component replacements, and routine maintenance activities.Document maintenance findings and report equipment concerns to maintenance leadership.Support efforts to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.Facility & Equipment SupportAssist with maintenance and repair of warehouse support equipment including dock equipment, fans, air compressors, and facility systems.Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance work areas, tools, and equipment.Support emergency equipment repairs and operational uptime initiatives.Documentation & InventoryMaintain accurate maintenance records and work order documentation.Record labor hours, repairs completed, and parts used.Assist with identifying replacement parts and inventory requirements.Communicate equipment issues and repair status to maintenance leadership.Safety & ComplianceFollow all OSHA, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, PPE, and company safety requirements.Report hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions immediately.Ensure maintenance work is completed safely and according to established procedures.Maintain a clean and safe work environment.Qualifications Required1–3 years of industrial maintenance, manufacturing, distribution, warehouse, facilities, or related maintenance experience.Experience working with conveyor systems:Working knowledge of:BearingsBelts and chainsMotors and gearboxesRollers and conveyorsBasic pneumatics and hydraulicsAbility to safely use hand tools, power tools, and standard maintenance equipment.Basic computer skills and ability to document work electronically.Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.PreferredExperience in warehouse automation, distribution, or manufacturing environments.Basic electrical troubleshooting experience.CMMS experience (SAP, Maximo, Fiix, or similar systems).Bilingual (English/Spanish).Physical RequirementsRegularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds.Stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and climb ladders for extended periods.Work in warehouse and industrial environments with varying temperatures.Ability to work overtime, weekends, and alternative shifts as business needs require.Schedule : Wednesday–SaturdayDay Shift: 5:00 AM - 3:30 PMSunday - WednesdayDay Shift: 5:00 AM - 3:30 PMPay Range: $28.00-32.00 per hour*The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position.
