Job summary

PaperWorks US is seeking a Maintenance Technician to sustain production machines and equipment, including mechanical systems, engines, motors, pneumatic tools, and conveyors. Electrical experience is essential to support reliability on the line.

You will perform preventive maintenance, repair facility issues, and keep detailed records. You will work hours required to keep equipment ready, with emphasis on safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 2–3 years related experience in folding carton industry.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend English for Safety, ISO, and work related tasks.
• Ability to present information in one-on-one and small groups.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, vendors, or employees.
• Must add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
• Ability to solve practical problems with concrete variables.
• Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 50 and occasionally up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance as scheduled.
• Repair machines and address facility maintenance issues.
• Keep accurate and up-to-date records of all work done.
• Work the hours required by the job to keep equipment ready for operation, even during breakdowns.
• Maintain the physical structure of the establishment, its exterior, and snow removal as needed.
• Instruct department personnel in proper use and care of equipment.
• Keep inventory of supplies and requisition replacements as needed.
• Read and use mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and other working prints.
• Use measuring devices like tape measures, calipers, micrometers, gauges, and meters.
• Operate equipment such as lathe and drill press; gas welding, brazing, soldering, and electric welding.
• Follow Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
• Capable of accurate record-keeping and form completion.
• Apply pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting techniques.
• Use preventive maintenance systems to reduce downtime.
• Three-phase electrical experience up to 480v.
• PC/Shop tools for fabricating repair parts.
• Identify safety issues and address them proactively.
• Participate in continuous improvement in maintenance and production.
• Use problem solving to improve safety, housekeeping, waste reduction, quality, productivity and cost.

The Maintenance Technician will maintain production machines and equipment including:mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems. Som electrical experience is also required.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive maintenance as scheduled.
• Responsible for repair of machines andfacility maintenance issues.
• Keep accurate and up-to-date records of all work done.
• Work the hours required by the job in keeping all equipment ready for operation at all times, even if a break-down should occur.
• Maintain physical structure of establishment by keeping work area neat, clean, and safe. This includes the outside of building, the property, and snow removal as needed periodically as weather conditions change.
• Act as a capable trainer, able to instruct department personnel in proper use and care of equipment and in all phases of the work with a minimum of personal friction of conflict.
• Keep an inventory of all supplies and materials and sees that replacements are requisitioned in event of a supervisor absence.
• Possess the ability to read understand, and use mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and other working plan prints used in maintenance.
• Accurately use different measuring devices including: tape measures, calipers, micrometers, scales, gauges, and meters.
• Ability to operate all equipment used in maintenance work including: a lathe, drill press, etc.
• Must be able to do gas welding, brazing, soldering and electric welding.
• Familiar with Lock Out/Tag Out procedures and follows the guidelines closely.
• Must be capable of keeping accurate records, including the completion of all required forms; and the accurate use of different measuring devices including tape measures, and all other applicable gauges for your responsibilities.

• Has pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting experience.

• Facility-wide use of reliable troubleshooting methods.

• Utilizes preventive maintenance systems to reduce unscheduled downtime.

• Three-phase electrical experience up to 480v

• Programmable logic control experience

• Proficient in machine shop operations to fabricate repair parts.

• Identify areas where safety issues could arise and take measures to proactively address the concerns.

• Participates in continuous improvement efforts involving maintenance and production.

• Uses problem solving to maximize facility improvement in safety, housekeeping, waste reduction, quality, productivity and cost.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in the folding carton industry.
• Must have the ability to read, write, and comprehend documents and verbal instructions in English for Safety, ISO, and work related tasks.
• Must have the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, vendors, or employees of organization.
• Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
