Job summary

Saputo Cheese USA Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain industrial machinery in a food manufacturing setting. The role involves electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and equipment upgrades.

The candidate should have 1–2 years of maintenance experience, SAP experience preferred, and flexibility for a 12-hour rotating shift. Starting rate is $33.99–$35.49 per hour, with overtime and weekend work as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Industrial ammonia refrigeration, high pressure boiler and utility experience.
• 1-2 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic systems and pneumatic equipment.
• SAP experience desired.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Willing to work overtime and weekends as necessary.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose equipment problems from test results and operator input.
• Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery.
• Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs.
• Inspect parts for defects such as breakage and wear.
• Observe and test operation of machinery to diagnose malfunctions.
• Operate repaired machinery to verify repairs.
• Reassemble equipment after inspections and repairs.
• Troubleshoot, install, repair and maintain equipment including hydraulic/pneumatic systems, motors, gearboxes, VFD/HMI/Servo devices, conveyors, valves.
• Repair and replace broken components.
• Refer to blueprints and manuals for installation and operation.
• Operate and support industrial, refrigeration, boiler and utility operations.
• Cut and weld metal to repair or fabricate parts.
• Demonstrate equipment functions to operators.
• Enter codes to program computer-controlled machinery.
• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance and document records.

*This is a 12-hour rotating 2/2/3 schedule, 5pm - 5:30am*

*The flexibility to train Monday - Friday days for the first few months is required*

How you will make contributions that matter ...

• Analyze test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from operators in order to diagnose equipment problems.
• Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery.
• Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs.
• Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear.
• Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment in order to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters and other testing devices.
• Operate newly repaired machinery and equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs.
• Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs.
• Troubleshoot, install, repair and maintain the operating condition of industrial production and processing machinery and equipment, to include but not limited to: hydraulic and pneumatic systems, motors, gearboxes, VFD/HMI/Servo control devices, conveying systems, industrial printers, valves, photo eyes, switches, heat exchangers, level controls.
• Repair and replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery and equipment.
• As applicablerefer toblueprints and manufacturers' manuals to determine correct installation and operation of machinery.
• Operate and support industrial, refrigeration, boiler and utility operations.
• Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, and assemble new equipment.
• Demonstrate equipment functions and features to machine operators.
• Enter codes and instructions to program computer-controlled machinery.
• Complete scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment (planned and unplanned maintenance activities).
• Respond to production needs as they occur on the production floor.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation of maintenance records, work orders and task records.
• Accurately input and record PM (planned and unplanned activities into MP2 or other MIS/ERP system.
• Comply with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
• Comply with federal, state and local safety regulations.
• Follow SQF and Company GMPand 5S guidelines to produce a safe and quality product
• Adhere to the Saputo code of ethics and actively apply the Saputo values.
• Work together professionally in a team environment with coworkers and other department personnel.
• Other duties as required by management.

You are best suited for the role if you have the following experience, skills, and qualifications ...

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Industrial ammonia refrigeration, high pressure boiler and utility experience.
• 1-2 year(s) prior industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing environment required.
• Ability to trouble-shoot electrical, hydraulic systems and pneumatic equipment.
• Strong electrical background in addition to mechanical skills. Experience with computerized or automated controls and ability to readelectricschematics a plus. SAP experience desired.
• Self-motivated detail–oriented and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Willing to work any shift, including overtime and weekends as necessary.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated work history.

Work Environment .

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job in a food manufacturing environment.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; hazardous or caustic chemicals and exposure to electrical equipment/systems. The noise level in the work environment is moderate and hearing protection is required in most areas of the facility. The use of a bump cap and eye protection is required.

Starting Rate : $33.99/hr. - $35.49/hr (depending upon experience)
