Job summary

Excelsior Springs City Hospital in Excelsior Springs, MO, is seeking a full-time Plant Operations Technician to maintain hospital facilities, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and grounds maintenance.

The ideal candidate will have HVAC certification preferred and 2+ years of maintenance experience; OSHA safety practices apply, with operation of light vehicles and power tools as part of daily duties.

Qualifications

• HVAC Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance to keep hospital facilities in good repair.
• Snow removal for hospital grounds and landscapes using appropriate equipment.
• Monitor HVAC PM, troubleshoot and repair HVAC issues using BAS.
• Carpentry: build walls, install doors/frames, drywall patching and painting.
• Repair mechanical systems, boiler maintenance, water line work.
• Electrical testing, replace outlets, breakers, lighting, and emergency lighting.
• Complete preventive maintenance on compliance equipment.
• Operate light vehicles and power tools safely.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Description

Responsibilities:

• Performs duties necessary to keep the physical structure of ESH in good repair. snow removal of all hospital and clinic grounds and landscapes which includes the operation of electrically powered and gasoline-powered grounds keeping equipment and machines.
• Monitor HVAC system PM, trouble shoot and repairs HVAC issues using the BAS. Replace sensors , coils and valves when needed.
• Carpentry work includes building walls and installing doors and frames, drywall patching and painting of walls at all facility locations.
• Responsible for repairs to mechanical system, Boiler maintenance and cleaning. Replace valves when necessary. Replace broken water lines, install new water lines, replace water valves.
• Perform electrical compliance testing of outlets, replace outlets and light switches when necessary. Replace breakers, reset tripped breakers, rewire light fixtures, do preventive maintenance on emergency lighting in fixtures, Repair cords with proper ends. Install conduit and wire on newly bult walls. Replace light fixtures on the outside of the buildings.
• Completes assigned preventive maintenance on all compliance related equipment.
• Safely operates light vehicles such as pick-up trucks, Skid steer or riding mowers and portable power tools and equipment such as saws, grass trimmers, snow/leaf blowers, sprayers, paint machines and other grounds keeping equipment by obeying applicable traffic laws and following operator instructions, and wearing appropriate safety items such as goggles, gloves, or other appropriate protective clothing.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• HVAC Certification preferred.
• 2+ years of previous maintenance experience preferred.
