First Realty Management Corp. is seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join our Cambridge, MA team. The role involves electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, boilers, and general maintenance across sites, with on-call responsibilities and occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Experience in apartment/maintenance settings is preferred.

• Able to use basic computer skills (MS Office) and work orders.

Responsibilities

• Respond to daily emergencies and routine service requests in a timely manner.
• Coordinate with site managers and contractors for on-site issues.
• Maintain site appearance by cleaning and disposing of refuse daily.
• Implement preventative maintenance per site requirements.
• Assist in on-call rotation and support at other sites as needed.

First Realty Management Corp, a leading area property management firm is seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic in the Huron Village area of Cambridge. We are seeking an individual who can work well independently when needed and is skilled in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, boilers, and general maintenance work.

Requirements:

• Responds to changes in organization and property by assuming additional responsibilities as needed, such as going to other sites, per theunion contract Section 9.6 and posting provisions.
• This individual must have the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Good communication skills are necessary.
• Must be available on Saturdays.
• The individual should be service-minded and take pride in work.
• Shares in on-call rotation/Ability to respond effectively to site emergencies.
• Basic knowledge of carpentry, and general repair and maintenance duties.
• Ability to prioritize responsibilities.
• Ability to get to the site in a timely manner to respond to emergencies.
• Ability to use basic computer skills (MS Office, Entrada, RealPage)
• Ability to fill out and complete work orders accurately.
• Ability to communicate effectively with site staff and residents.
• Ability to follow directions.
• Ability to safely operate power tools, such as saws and drills.
• Having your own tools is very helpful.
• Prior experience in apartment maintenance is also helpful.
• Must pass pre-employment physical before the start of work.
• Willingness to exhibit flexibility in scheduling as needed, including availability for on call hours, and assisting at other sites for coverage, in emergencies, or as needed.
• Reliable vehicle, willingness to travel when needed, and a valid driver's license, with a driving record that is in good standing, required.Job Functions:
  • Full-Time, Tuesday - Saturday.
  • Meets and communicates with site managers regularly to update each other on on-site issues.
  • Assumes on-call responsibilities for unforeseen emergencies, shared with others where applicable, including weather related emergencies and other unforeseen circumstances
  • Works with manager to coordinate contracts and oversee contractor activities.
  • Responds to daily emergencies and routine service work orders in a professional and timely manner.
  • Maintains the appearance of the site by collecting and discarding refuse from common areas and throughout the site daily.
  • Performs preventative maintenance schedule per site requirements.
  • Maintains a clean and well-groomed appearance, and wears company-issued uniforms.
  • Is courteous to residents at all times.
