Job Overview

Kelly Services is seeking a proficient Maintenance Mechanic to maintain and repair rollers used in paper manufacturing machinery. The role involves inspecting, dismantling, repairing, and reassembling mechanical rollers, interpreting engineering drawings, fabricating parts, and applying mechanical expertise to troubleshoot and upgrade equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Examine and diagnose the condition of paper rollers.
2. Measure bearing clearances and install bearings.
3. Interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
4. Dismantle and reassemble mechanical assemblies.
5. Use measuring tools such as micrometers.
6. Operate hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools.
7. Utilize overhead cranes, tow motors, and forklifts.
8. Fabrication skills including welding, machining, and finishing are advantageous.
9. Knowledge of industrial painting is beneficial.

Qualifications:

1. Strong commitment to safety and promoting a safety culture.
2. High school diploma or GED required.
3. Experience in machining, welding, and painting is a plus.
4. Compliance with safety equipment and PPE requirements.
5. Willingness to develop skills in millwrighting, welding, and related fields.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
8. Strong organizational skills and problem-solving abilities.
