Job summary

Menasha Corporation in Aurora, IL is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for the 2nd shift (Mon-Thu, 10 hours). You will maintain, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment, performing preventive maintenance per corporate standards for quality and safety.

The role offers eligibility for an annual incentive plan and a full benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, life, AD&D, disability, 401(k), PTO and holidays.

Qualifications

  • Safety sensitive position – ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the business.
  • Ability to effectively work in teams.
  • Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people.
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles.
  • Must have basic math, reading, and communication skills.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and, where necessary, complete: blueprints, electrical schematics, operating and maintenance manuals, work orders, repair parts requests.
  • Ability to operate and understand measuring equipment such as: standard or metric tape measure, micrometer, caliper, scale, VOM (Volt/Ohm Meter)
  • Advanced knowledge of machine operations and mechanical functions.
  • Ability to disassemble, repair, and troubleshoot plant machines.
  • Ability to overhaul, rebuild and troubleshoot plant machines.
  • Ability to make simple parts or equipment and tools

Responsibilities

  • Ensure operation of machinery and equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
  • Troubleshoot issues of mechanical devices and correct as needed to maintain quality.
  • Control downtime by communicating with departments.
  • Read and adjust dimensions, fabricate parts when needed, calibrate devices.
  • Maintain inventories of equipment parts and supplies.
  • Be responsible for facility maintenance and housekeeping.
  • Prepare maintenance reports and communicate actions and needs.
  • Follow safety policies and wear PPE.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

This position is for 2nd shift, Monday-Thursday, 10 hour shift.**Essential Functions:**1. Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements of all equipment 2. Troubleshoot any issues of mechanical devices, correct issues as necessary to maintain productivity/quality standards 3. Control downtime by communicating with all departments 4. Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts, fabricate parts when needed, adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments 5. Maintain equipment, parts and supplies inventories; conserve resources when able 6. Responsible for facility maintenance 7. Prepare maintenance reports, document and communicate actions, irregularities and continuing needs 8. Work in a safe and efficient manner using all personal protective, safety equipment and devices that are required, and comply with company safety policies and procedures 9. Be actively involved in Continuous Improvement 10. Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors**Education/Certification:**High school diploma or equivalent highly desired5 years of experience highly preferred**Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**1.
