Job summary

Amrize is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to keep the Theodore Cement Plant running smoothly and safely. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, repairs, and proactive troubleshooting across cement plant equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Ideal candidates have at least 5 years in manufacturing maintenance, a trade certificate or technical degree, and a strong commitment to safety guidelines. The position requires rotating shifts and adherence to Amrize PPE policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associates or technical degree preferred.
• Trade certificate or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum 5 years manufacturing maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair plant equipment to ensure continuous operation.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance using appropriate tools.
• Troubleshoot equipment and report issues to supervisors.
• Fabricate, assemble, weld, and cut as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and participate in safety programs.
• Operate mobile equipment and maintain work area.
• Document findings and update work orders.

About The Role

Purpose: To work as part of a team to ensure the continuous operation of the cement plant and associated facilities and to maintain, troubleshoot and repair plant equipment in accordance with plant needs within MSHA, and Amrize safety guidelines.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Performs work in the areas of mechanical maintenance, mobile equipment repair.
• Fabrication, assembly, welding, and cutting following safe and accepted maintenance practices to maintain high equipment reliability.
• Dismantles, repairs, and reassembles equipment.
• Performs proactive/predictive maintenance through the use of advanced tools (thermograph, vibration, ultrasound, oil analysis, etc.)
• Troubleshoot potential concerns required to achieve and maintain maximum productivity.
• Report maintenance problems to the appropriate supervisor, coordinator or engineer for action and/or participate in corrective actions if appropriate.
• Keep up-to-date on all maintenance procedure changes and be instrumental in developing new procedures as required.
• Perform preventive/proactive inspections and document findings as directed by the maintenance supervisor and continuous improvement groups.
• May be asked to serve as a member of a Continuous Improvement Group to resolve maintenance and electrical difficulties.
• Participate in the development of new safety procedures such as but not limited to lock out tag out and Job Safety Analyses (JSA).
• Exercise good housekeeping practices at all times.
• Safely operate mobile equipment as required.
• Perform clean up duties are required.
• Fill out and follow up on work orders and assist when necessary in locating and issuing stores materials.
• Perform any and all other duties as may be assigned from time to time. Will be required to work some rotating shifts to help cover shift workers vacation.
• May be required to perform stand-by and carry a communication device to quickly respond to plant needs.

What We Are Looking For

• High School Diploma/GED
• Additional Education Preferred: Associates/Technical Degree
• Required Training/Certifications: Trade certificate, technical degree or equivalent and/or relevant experience
