Role Summary
An expanding plastics production company is looking for a proactive Maintenance Manager to oversee technical operations throughout various manufacturing sites. You will be tasked with enhancing equipment performance, managing preventive maintenance schedules, mentoring staff, and minimizing operational interruptions related to injection molding hardware, automated systems, robotics, and general facility infrastructure. We are looking for a leader who balances managerial duties with a willingness to engage directly with technical challenges on the factory floor.
Core Duties
- Direct all maintenance functions across two separate production sites.
- Mentor and guide maintenance staff to foster professional growth and team performance.
- Ensure the reliability of assets by overseeing all repair work and preventive maintenance programs.
- Assist in the diagnosis of issues involving injection molding units, robotics, automation, and PLC-integrated systems.
- Implement root cause analysis strategies to help improve overall equipment availability.
- Coordinate maintenance workflows, including work order management, spare parts inventory, and critical asset needs.
- Monitor performance metrics to uncover ways to boost uptime and refine maintenance efficiency.
- Collaborate with the Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to enhance equipment and process workflows.
- Facilitate the installation of new machinery, system upgrades, and various facility-wide initiatives.
- Promote a culture of safety to ensure all maintenance tasks are performed securely and within established timelines.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of practical industrial maintenance experience within a manufacturing setting.
- At least 3 years in a supervisory or team leadership capacity.
- Proven background in the upkeep of plastic injection molding machinery.
- Familiarity with automated manufacturing systems and auxiliary injection molding equipment.
- Comprehensive diagnostic skills covering pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Background in working with PLC-based equipment and industrial robotics is highly desired.
- Educational background including an Associate degree, trade school certification, or equivalent field experience.
- Strong capabilities in communication, leadership, organization, and analytical problem-solving.
- Proven ability to handle competing maintenance demands in a high-speed production setting.
- Willingness to spend significant time performing hands-on work in the production area.
- Capacity to commute between local manufacturing locations.
- Flexibility to work overtime or weekends when production demands necessitate it.
