Job summary

Darling Ingredients is seeking a Maintenance Manager to supervise the maintenance staff and oversee corrective and preventative maintenance within the plant. The role focuses on maintaining equipment, implementing preventive programs, and ensuring safety and compliance with OSHA standards.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, hands-on maintenance experience in an industrial setting, and the ability to train personnel while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience as a manager in an industrial setting.
• Knowledge of industrial electrical, mechanical, and welding procedures.
• Experience with computer maintenance programs and with MS Word and MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and corrects all mechanical and/or building problems that may arise in the plant.
• Provides direction and leadership for the maintenance crew and controls scheduling.
• Implements and evaluates preventative maintenance program.
• Responsible for training new personnel on safety procedures and OSHA standards.
• Responsible for cleanliness of equipment and safety inspections.
• Operates all equipment in accordance with safety rules and procedures.
• All other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Essential Duties / Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

• High school Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience as a manager in an industrial setting or in combination with training/vocational school.
• Demonstrated knowledge of industrial electrical, mechanical, and welding procedures.
• Experience with computer maintenance programs and with MS Word and MS Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior rendering experience preferred.
• Management experience in an agricultural business preferred.
• Good communication skills both oral and written.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of industrial electrical, mechanical, and welding procedures.
• Ability to provide leadership and training to maintenance personnel.
• Team player; works well with others; ability to supervise small groups.
• Detail oriented; well organized; ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks.
• Good math skills.

Exposed to physical environments such as high noise level, strong odors, heat, cold, biohazardous conditions, toxic chemicals, electrical hazards and handling of dangerous equipment. Requires occasional travel to off‑site locations.

• Must be able to stand, walk, use hands to operate equipment, and climb ladders.
• Weight & Force Demands: Able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Visual Requirements: Close vision, color vision, peripheral and depth perception needed.
