Job summary

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) seeks a Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance of a high-volume fulfillment center and serve as Reliability and Maintenance Engineering leader. You will partner with the client’s General Manager and senior operations staff to deliver best-in-class maintenance.

The role emphasizes safety, supervision of maintenance staff, budget responsibility, staffing planning, and continuous improvement of conveyance systems and robotics.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safety-first culture within the team and ensure personnel return home in the same condition as they reported to work.
  • Provide subject matter expertise for maintenance of high-speed conveyance and robotic product movement systems.
  • Supervise employees within a single functional area and coach on preventive maintenance strategies (PM and PDM).
  • Direct the local team to meet daily maintenance metrics and oversee the maintenance-related budget for the fulfillment center.
  • Approve staffing recommendations and coordinate recruitment, promotion, and corrective actions for staff.
  • Plan staffing levels and labor utilization, including overtime management.
  • Prepare and deliver performance appraisals for staff.
  • Participate in corporate-sponsored programs including incident investigations, audits, and assessments.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors aligned with company values.
  • Foster positive working relationships with the client and operations maintenance teams.

About the Role

As the MM you will handle multiple internal and external functions of material handling operations and maintenance of a fulfillment center site. You will also serve as the Reliability and Maintenance Engineering leader and partner directly with the client’s General Manager and senior operations staff to deliver best-in-class maintenance.

What You’ll Do
  • Maintain a safety-first culture in which CBRE employees return home in the same condition in which they reported to work.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to employees involved in the maintenance of miles of high-speed conveyance and robotic product movement systems.
  • Provide formal supervision to individual employees within a single functional or operational area.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to all employees on the proper execution of CBRE’s preventive maintenance strategies, including completing PM and PDM tasks daily, while documenting all corrective work required to maintain a sophisticated conveyance system.
  • Direct the local team to meet targets associated with daily maintenance related metrics.
  • Responsible for the execution of the maintenance-related budget for the fulfillment center.
  • Approve subordinate's recommendations for staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Effectively recommends same for all employees to next level management for review and approval.
  • Plan and monitor appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime.
  • Prepare and deliver performance appraisal for staff.
  • Participate in corporate-sponsored programs & activities as required, including incident investigations, interviews, auditing, and assessments, etc.
  • Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.
  • Cultivate positive working relationships with our Client and the Operations Maintenance team members.
