Job summary

International Paper in Spotswood, NJ is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead and supervise a maintenance team, coordinate daily activities, and plan preventive maintenance programs. You will work closely with the Manufacturing Manager and ensure safe, efficient plant operations.

The role requires strong experience with electrical and mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics in a manufacturing setting, plus cost and vendor management.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated supervisory and leadership capabilities in a manufacturing setting.
• 5+ years maintaining and leading teams in a plant environment.
• Experience with electrical, mechanical, hydraulics and pneumatics systems.
• Industry knowledge in corrugated box manufacturing desirable.

Responsibilities

• Actively supervises maintenance staff in day-to-day coordination and planning.
• Report operational impediments to Manufacturing Manager with technical input.
• Initiate and sustain cost-effective preventive maintenance programs.
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to achieve targets.
• Maintain spare parts inventories and procure materials as needed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues and safety risks.
• Plan, schedule and monitor timely completion of work orders.
• Foster productive relationships with management and hourly staff.
• Support safety and environmental audits on a regular basis.

The Job You Will Perform

• Actively supervises employees in the everyday coordination, execution and planning of maintenance efforts.
• Report to Manufacturing Manager any information that may impede the operation of the plant as soon as it becomes known, while providing technical expertise regarding plant equipment and facilities.
• Initiate and/or maintain a cost-effective preventive maintenance program and Implement quality improvement and cost reduction ideas.
• Contact and work with vendors and subcontractors to achieve desired results.
• Maintains adequate inventories of spare parts and Purchase materials, parts, and supplies as required.
• Troubleshoot and solve problems.
• Identify areas where safety issues could arise and take measures to proactively address the concerns.
• Plans, schedules and monitors the timely completion of maintenance work orders.
• Maintain a good working relationship with the plant management, supervisory staff and hourly employees.
• Maintain good housekeeping practices.
• Continually communicate in a positive manner.
• Participate in weekly, monthly, semiannual and annual safety and environmental audits.

• Five years’ experience in the corrugated box industry with heavy experience in electronics, mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electricity preferred.
