Job summary

McWilliams Forge Company a PCC Company is seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee all maintenance operations of the plant, including electrical and mechanical systems, production equipment, utilities, and grounds, while ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.

You will lead a skilled team, plan preventive maintenance, manage budgets, evaluate performance, and drive Lean and 6S initiatives to maximize uptime and efficiency in a heavy manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Degree plus ten years related experience (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably Press and CNC machining in hydraulic and mechanical environments.
  • Must possess analytical problem‑solving techniques.
  • Exposure or ability to learn Lean Manufacturing techniques.
  • Self‑motivated and self‑managed, possessing strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees maintenance of all facility parts and areas, including machinery and buildings.
  • Creates and manages a Preventive Maintenance Program for production machinery and equipment.
  • Directs maintenance and operations of facility systems (electrical, refrigeration, water, steam, compressed gas).
  • Evaluates jobs in process and upon completion to ensure safety and quality standards.
  • Plans and oversees equipment needs and acquisitions to maximize production efficiency.

Job description

The Maintenance Manager will oversee all physical aspects of the plant including service and repair of electrical and mechanical systems; maintenance of production equipment, physical plant, utilities, and grounds; and compliance with applicable policies and regulations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Hires and trains Maintenance Department staff.
  • Organizes and oversees Maintenance staff duties and scheduling.
  • Conducts timely and constructive performance evaluations.
  • Oversees, schedules, and coordinates daily work assignments of maintenance, electrical, and mechanical operation workers.
  • Handles development and discipline of employees as needed, and in accordance with company policy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Facilitates proper maintenance of all parts and areas of the facility including machinery and buildings.
  • Creates, schedules, implements, and manages a Preventive Maintenance Program for production machinery and equipment.
  • Directs the maintenance and operations of various facility systems to ensure uninterrupted service. Covered systems may include electrical, refrigeration, water, steam, and compressed gas.
  • Evaluates jobs in process and on completion to ensure products meet safety and work quality expectations.
  • Conducts chemical analysis and maintenance as required for boiler, air wash-water, and similar systems.
  • Procures materials, supplies, and repair parts to maintain inventory as required.
  • Suggests, plans, and oversees equipment needs and acquisition to maximize production efficiency and return.
  • Oversees and plans the layout of electrical and mechanical equipment; recommends and implements modifications to facilities.
  • Assist in driving unplanned machine down-time to company standards
  • Support efforts to drive Continuous Improvement efforts, Lean Manufacturing techniques, and 6S theories
  • Assists in meeting budget targets and limits on capital purchases are adhered to
  • Supervises the maintenance staff and drive cross-training for the department
  • Problem-solving and trouble shooting maintenance issues
  • Ensures daily goals and metrics are met and sustained daily/weekly/quarterly/annually
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Ability to lead and communicate effectively
  • Ability to use MRP systems
REQUIREMENTS:
