Job summary

Darling Ingredients Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Manager to supervise the maintenance staff and oversee all corrective and preventive maintenance in the plant.

The role includes directing the maintenance crew, scheduling work, and implementing preventive maintenance programs to ensure optimal plant operation. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and welding procedures, plus experience with maintenance software and MS Word/Excel.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of management experience in an industrial setting.
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and welding procedures.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel; familiarity with maintenance software.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance staff and oversee corrective and preventive maintenance.
• Direct and schedule maintenance crew activities and set priorities.
• Lead the implementation and evaluation of preventive maintenance programs.
• Train personnel on safety procedures per OSHA standards.
• Ensure equipment cleanliness and conduct safety inspections.
• Operate equipment according to company safety rules.

Job Description

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the supervision of the maintenance staff, and any corrective or preventative maintenance procedures within the plant.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Evaluates and corrects all mechanical and/or building problems that may arise in the plant.
• Provides direction and leadership for the maintenance crew and controls scheduling.
• Implements and evaluates preventative maintenance program.
• Responsible for training new personnel on Company safety procedures and safe operating standards in accordance with OSHA.
• Responsible for cleanliness of equipment and safety inspections.
• Operates all equipment in accordance with company safety rules and procedures.
• All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience as a manager in an industrial setting or in combination with training/vocational school.
• Demonstrated knowledge of industrial electrical, mechanical, and welding procedures.
• Experience with computer maintenance programs and with MS Word and MS Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior rendering experience preferred.
• Management experience in an agricultural business preferred.
• Good communication skills both oral and written.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of industrial electrical, mechanical, and welding procedures.
• Ability to provide leadership and training to maintenance personnel.
• Team player; works well with others; ability to supervise small groups.
• Detail oriented; well organized; ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks.
• Good math skills.
