Job summary

Hussmann is seeking a senior facilities and manufacturing engineering leader to oversee maintenance, space planning, and site improvements for our California operation. The role drives productivity, manages plant engineering processes, and leads a team of engineers to optimize production and office services.

The successful candidate will have 10+ years in related roles, a BS in Engineering, and strong planning, organizational, and communication skills, with deep Lean manufacturing knowledge.

Qualifications

  • 10 years of related experience.
  • BS degree in Engineering.
  • 5 or more years facilities/office management experience and 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Excellent planning, organizing and communications skills.
  • Lean manufacturing concepts required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain Facility Services - Manage existing office space to meet business and employee needs; work with team to develop and recommend site plan changes as space and business needs change and to coordinate and manage facility projects; manage facility spending.
  • Ensure Physical Facility Security - Manage contract security personnel; ensure that written security procedures are current and utilized; recommend and implement security equipment improvements.
  • Manage Plant Manufacturing Engineering Process – Plans, directs, coordinates and improves manufacturing processes for optimal and efficient production operation and use of company assets.
  • Office Maintenance - coordinate and supervise all office maintenance services, internal and external, to ensure that timely and cost-effective services are provided.
  • Leadership - Directs the activities of the Manufacturing Engineering group in the development of production documentation, methods, tooling and equipment requirements, make/buy decisions, and CI projects. Direct Facility Maintenance staff to maintain plant, office, and grounds.
  • Preventative Maintenance - Manage and improve PM process for all machinery and equipment.
  • General Service - Manage facility contracts for grounds, equipment, etc; recommend changes/improvements to ensure cost-effective and quality services.

The salary or hourly range of $107,248 - $199,176 is just one component of Hussmann’s total package. Actual compensation varies depending on the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives. The minimum hourly wage for this role will be the greater of the posted range, or minimum wage for the location where the employee will be working, subject to local minimum wage requirements.
