This position is responsible for the inspection, repair, maintenance, return to service, and/or supervision of such activities for our client's owned and/or operated aircraft in accordance with the Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs). Relocation assistance is available for this position.
Responsibilities
- Perform and/or supervise inspections, routine servicing, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance on company aircraft in accordance with applicable FARs.
- Ensure maintenance activities and documentation are completed in accordance with approved inspection procedures and applicable maintenance manuals.
- Coordinate with the Director of Maintenance to ensure aircraft remain in compliance with all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
- Ensure maintenance personnel receive appropriate training for the level of maintenance performed and follow all general safety practices, including the proper use of firefighting equipment.
- Ensure all required technical data is current and readily available to maintenance personnel.
- Ensure required tools and equipment are available, properly maintained, and calibrated when required.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized hangar/shop environment for aircraft maintenance.
- Maintain an adequate inventory of approved aircraft parts to support timely repairs while avoiding unnecessary excess inventory.
- Maintain a basic set of hand tools necessary to perform standard servicing and maintenance on general aviation aircraft.
- Ensure periodic inspections of fire and safety equipment to verify serviceability and compliance.
The Maintenance Manager may delegate duties and responsibilities to qualified personnel. However, delegation does not relieve the Maintenance Manager of overall responsibility for maintenance operations.
Requirements
Education
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate in good standing.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of General Aviation maintenance experience.
- Previous Maintenance Manager or supervisory experience preferred.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to identify maintenance issues, troubleshoot problems, and develop effective solutions.
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in various environmental conditions.
- Frequent exposure to aircraft, aviation equipment, and maintenance environments.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
- Occasional out-of-state travel may be required.
