Job summary

The Kinetic Group is hiring for a manufacturing technician responsible for operating and monitoring basic machining equipment such as drill presses, lathes, and grinders. You will perform welding and brazing as needed to fabricate or repair components, while maintaining strict safety and process documentation standards.

Starting pay is competitive; you will be evaluated on experience with fasteners, bearings, seals, lubricants, and reading blueprints or CAD/CAM drawings.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED requirement.
• Proficiency reading/process instructions; able to read gauges and blueprints.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to use basic tools and understand fasteners, bearings, seals, lubricants.

Overview

Principal Duties and Accountabilities (*Essential Functions) – Shift hours will be discussed during interview.

Responsibilities

• Work in a safe and orderly manner at all times; obey plant, department and area rules and regulations.
• Obtain, maintain and wear or use all necessary safety equipment as directed.
• Attend shift, department and plant meetings in a timely manner.
• Operate, monitor and adjust equipment such as drill presses, lathes, milling machines and surface grinders.
• Perform basic welding and brazing to fabricate, modify and repair equipment, parts and components.
• Maintain process integrity with proper documentation and observance of process records.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area at all times.

Qualifications

High School diploma, G.E.D. certificate or recognized equivalent.

• Good communication skills: speak, read and write in English sufficient to communicate with team members and supervisors, read process instructions, record process information, read and interpret analog and digital gauges, complex blueprints and CAD/CAM drawings, and written standards from equipment manufacturers.
• Technical understanding of fasteners, bearings, seals, lubricants including their use, function, tolerances, removal and installation procedures; and metals types, identification and usage.
• Minimum 4 years of verifiable experience in a similar role or a recognized certificate of training or diploma in a course of study or apprenticeship program AND 1 year of verifiable experience in a similar role.
• Must satisfy a written comprehension test and mechanical aptitude evaluation.
• Must own and maintain a complimentary set of hand tools sufficient to perform all duties and be willing to obtain replacements or additions as required.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee or otherwise eligible for required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State (U.S. export regulations).

Work Environment

Employee work assignments may include tasks with exposure to potentially hazardous areas, including flammables and explosives. Safety training is provided to all employees to ensure compliance with company and federal regulations.

Pay Range and Benefits

Starting hourly rate: $30.21. Actual salary will be based on experience, location, education and skills.
