Bob’s Red Mill Natural Foods, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Line Technician for the night shift to support production in a food manufacturing setting. The role involves ensuring proper machine setup, line speed, and safe operation across all packaging equipment.

The technician will monitor equipment performance, assist with repairs, and collaborate with maintenance and packaging teams. A strong mechanical knowledge base and basic math/English communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in a food manufacturing environment.
• 2+ years of maintenance experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent; or any combination of education and experience that provides the necessary skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensures proper machine setup and line speed metrics for all production lines.
• Monitors equipment performance and assists with repairs.
• Communicates with and trains machine operators on packaging equipment.
• Assembles and disassembles equipment for repair and changeovers.
• Documents repairs and adjustments in reports and logs.
• Initiates requests for parts with Maintenance Coordinator.
• Performs basic planned and unplanned maintenance on packaging equipment.

Location: On-site

Shift: Rotating, 12 hour Grave Shift (Red/Purple), 6:00 pm - 6:30 am including some weekends

Wage: Starts at a base of $25.52/Hr. with a $2.00/Hr. shift differential

Position Overview: The Maintenance Line Technician supports production staff with the proper and efficient operation of all production machinery. This position requires a strong working knowledge of the mechanics and maintenance of production machinery.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

• Ensures proper machine set up and line speed metrics for all production lines.
• Ensures equipment performance and efficiency and assists maintenance personnel with equipment repairs.
• Monitors production line equipment for maximum performance and production.
• Communicates with and trains Machine Operators on packaging equipment.
• Assists all maintenance personnel with projects and related tasks.
• Assembles and disassembles equipment for repair, changeovers, and cleanouts.
• Documents repairs and adjustments in applicable reports, forms, and logs.
• Initiates requests for parts and equipment in coordination with the Maintenance Coordinator.
• Performs basic planned and unplanned maintenance and repairs to packaging equipment.
• Complies with all company policies and procedures and operates all equipment in a safe and food-safe manner.
• Complies with Bob’s Red Mill food safety policies and procedures including adherence to FDA regulations, Safe Quality Food (SQF) Standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
• Responsible for reporting food safety and quality concerns to Supervisors and/or Department Manager.
• Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• None.
• This position reports to the Maintenance Foreman.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Education and Experience:

• 1 or more years of experience in a food manufacturing environment, AND
• 2 or more years of maintenance experience, AND
• High school diploma or equivalent; OR
• Any combination of education and additional years of experience that provides the necessary skills, knowledge, and ability to perform assigned tasks.

Physical Demands:

• Frequently will be required to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Frequently requires the ability to climb ladders and stairways.
• Position will require standing for up to 4 hours at a time.
• Position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Work Environment:

• This position will perform work within all areas of the facility and may be exposed to dust, dirt, grease and extremes and difference in temperature.
• Employees will be exposed to common food allergens.
