Job summary

Equity LifeStyle Properties is seeking a Maintenance - Level I worker in Gladys, Virginia. You will perform variety maintenance tasks including HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, irrigation, and groundskeeping to keep community standards high.

Work with the Maintenance Supervisor and team to ensure safety, cleanliness, and timely repairs. This role requires physical work and after-hours emergency readiness within a supportive, recognition-driven culture.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years of direct technical work experience in irrigation, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and related areas.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate heavy equipment.
• Valid driver's license, good driving record and current auto insurance.
• Willing to be on call for emergencies after hours.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe, and appealing property in coordination with management.
• Attend morning staff meetings to communicate daily vendor visits and tasks.
• Communicate with maintenance staff and management on special projects.
• Maintain grounds and common areas; keep free of trash and debris.
• Report maintenance concerns to management and perform repairs.
• Mow, weed, edge, and maintain common areas and vacant lots.
• Conduct irrigation system repairs.

What you'll do:

As a Maintenance Worker you perform various maintenance duties requiring technical labor skills, including HVAC repairs and adjustments, plumbing, light carpentry/construction, appliance repair, groundskeeping and more. You work as a team participant along with the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure the community meets the quality maintenance standards set by ELS.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with management to maintain a clean, safe and appealing property.
• Attend morning staff meetings to communicate daily vendor appointments and required work.
• Communicate regularly and professionally with other maintenance workers, management and staff and work closely with them on all special maintenance projects.
• Maintain grounds and common areas and keep them free from trash and debris.
• Report maintenance concerns directly to management and perform repairs.
• Mow, weed, edge and otherwise maintain common areas and vacant lot grounds.
• Conduct irrigation systems repairs.

Skills & experience you need:

• High school diploma or the equivalent experience.
• 1-3 years of direct technical work experience in applicable areas, including irrigation repairs, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, etc.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work with heavy equipment.
