Job summary

Danone North America is seeking a Maintenance Leader at its West Jordan, Utah yogurt manufacturing plant. The role leads equipment maintenance planning, scheduling, and reliability improvements for the line.

You will ensure timely work orders, plan execution, and safety adherence in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has strong maintenance planning, electrical/mechanical troubleshooting, and leadership abilities, plus experience with SAP and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Review and prioritize work orders and notifications within 24 hours.
• Ensure the work order backlog is current and report-ready.
• Lead daily review of maintenance plans and adjust as needed.
• Coordinate planned stops and align tasks with the plan.
• Lead weekly maintenance scheduling and monthly planning.
• Drive startup/shutdown optimization with Line Leader/Process Engineer.
• Maintain maintenance documentation and drawings.
• Create One‑Point Lessons and train line teams on maintenance.
• Develop and update annual maintenance plan and calendar.
• Track KPI data and drive MP&S improvements.
• Share results with department leadership monthly.
• Monitor PM, DMS health and initiate corrective actions.
• Develop improvement plans from maintenance metrics.
• Approve design changes via CM procedures.
• Collaborate with storeroom on parts management.
• Provide feedback on new equipment or line speed changes.

Maintenance Leader – West Jordan, Utah

At Danone, manufacturing the best products and supplying them to meet demand is a key driver for our plant teams. We are currently looking to hire a Maintenance Leader based in our yogurt manufacturing plant in West Jordan, Utah. The Maintenance Leader is part of the line‑centric team (Line Leader, Maintenance Leader, and Process Engineer) and is responsible for the equipment maintenance plan and breakdown analysis execution. The role is to champion equipment reliability and performance for the assigned line.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and prioritize work orders and notifications within 24 hours of generation
• Ensure the work order backlog is current, sorted for reporting
• Lead the review of the previous job completion results, other maintenance activities and today's plan in the Daily Meeting. Plans should be adjusted accordingly based upon scheduled work, scheduled work completion, and break in work
• Actively support and coordinate the planned stop, incorporating work orders and maintenance tasks into the Plan
• Lead the scheduling of maintenance work for the next week
• Lead the scheduling of maintenance work to schedule maintenance work for the next month as dictated by the annual maintenance plan and previously identified work
• Lead optimization with Line Leader/Process Engineer of startup and shutdown of line and major maintenance interventions
• Ensure the revision and updating of "Maintenance Technical Documentation" occurs as necessary
• Create One‑Point Lessons (OPL) and train and qualify line team in maintenance activities
• Develop and update annual maintenance plan and calendar
• Ensure maintenance indicator results and in‑process measures are tracked and kept current
• Ensure results of maintenance Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and in‑process measures are used to assess the progress of the Maintenance Planning & Scheduling (MP&S) system and to determine equipment reliability
• Results are shared with the department leadership in the monthly meeting
• Monitor the health of Preventative Maintenance (PM), Daily Management System (DMS), and recommend corrective action with line team: Breakdown Elimination (BDE), MP&S, support Autonomous Maintenance (AM), Clean Inspect and Lubricate (CIL), Centerline (CL), Defect Handling (DH), workshop and facilities, lubrication, maintenance costs, parts usage, and life
• Develop improvement plans through the tracking of maintenance indicators and in‑process measures
• Ensures all equipment design change proposals (corrective maintenance), add/delete/modify work follows the Change Management (CM) procedures
• Confirm maintenance technical documentation and equipment drawings and schematics are complete, accurate, easy to find and easy to use
• Collaborate with the storeroom in order to identify obsolete parts, off‑quality parts, ideal in‑stock numbers, required delivery time of parts, etc.
• Provides feedback to design on any new equipment or line speed changes
• Participate in vendor acceptance testing or other project work on new products or equipment
• Be a member of the PM pillar team as required and own a site PM system as required
• Serve as a subject matter expert that is called upon to support the team down the IWS path including coaching and developing other maintenance leaders both in the plant and within the network
• Deliver on SQCDMN daily/weekly/monthly/yearly goals and objectives through individual and team efforts
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations (WISE) to ensure a safe working environment

Physical Demands

• While performing duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop; kneel; crouch; crawl; taste and/or smell; talk and hear
• Ability to bend & stoop at waist level as well as bend & twist neck and head
• The employee must regularly endure repetitive minimal to moderate lifting 10lb up to 50lb and occasional team lifting above 50lb. Requires normal range of hearing and vision (including colors) to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports and results
• The employee is frequently standing on a concrete surface for 8–, 10‑ or 12‑hour shifts
• Occasionally may need to climb on stairs, step ladders, stool
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
• Ability to work up to 12‑hour shifts
