This position focuses on maximizing equipment quality, uptime, rate, and yield through strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, disciplined maintenance practices, and a commitment to safety. This role is ideal for someone with strong electrical aptitude, high attention to detail, and the ability to resolve complex equipment issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.**What You’ll Do*** Perform electrical maintenance on equipment while following all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO).* Ensure all guards and safety devices are installed and functional before returning equipment to operation.* Monitor inventory levels of parts, equipment, and supplies and place orders and verify receipts as needed.* Use manual and computerized maintenance management systems to track, inspect, and report equipment status.* Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and schematics to diagnose and repair equipment and machinery.* Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, and quality issues and escalate concerns when needed.* Perform breakdown repairs, preventive maintenance, and changeover tasks on production equipment.* Identify and report safety, quality, operational, or output issues when unable to correct independently.* Observe mechanical devices in operation and use precision instruments to diagnose and resolve problems.* Fabricate repair parts using machine shop tools and equipment.* Maintain a clean and safe work environment by complying with safety regulations and company procedures.* Operate powered industrial trucks, overhead cranes, and portable cranes as required.* Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to problem-solving efforts.* Comply with OSHA standards, including hazard communication, lockout procedures, and ergonomic guidelines.* Promote a culture of health and safety aligned with company policies and regulatory standards.* Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.**Who You Are*** 5+ years of experience in a heavy manufacturing environment, preferably in a maintenance role.* High school diploma or equivalent preferred; apprenticeship, journeyman training, military service, or equivalent mechanical/electrical training preferred.* Proficiency using hand and power tools, precision measuring devices, and interpreting technical drawings.* Strong mechanical aptitude with familiarity with electrical systems and PLCs.* Ability to communicate effectively in English and perform basic math calculations.* Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a safety-focused environment.* Ability to pass job-related testing, an employment physical, and a drug screening.* Strong teamwork skills with a collaborative mindset.**Physical Abilities*** Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.* Ability to stand or walk for extended periods throughout the shift.* Ability to bend, twist, stoop, sit, kneel, crawl, and reach in all directions as needed.* Ability to meet other physical demands as required to safely perform job duties.**What You’ll Get** **Zekelman Industries** offers competitive compensation and excellent benefits, including low-cost, high-quality medical and dental benefits.
