Job summary

Standex International is seeking a Maintenance Lead to ensure reliability, safety, and performance of manufacturing equipment and facility systems. You will lead the preventive maintenance program, coordinate maintenance activities, manage work orders and contractors, and drive continuous improvement with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Safety.

The role supports automation upgrades, tracks KPIs (MTBF, MTTR, PM completion), participates in Lean initiatives such as 5S, and maintains

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs and work order systems.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Preventive Maintenance (PM) program and maintenance work order system.
  • Coordinate equipment repairs and prioritize maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
  • Drive equipment reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with Production, Engineering, and Quality to resolve equipment issues.
  • Coordinate outside contractors and facility maintenance services.
  • Ensure compliance with inspections, permits, certifications, and safety requirements.
  • Support automation, equipment upgrades, and capital improvement projects.
  • Utilize Root Cause Analysis and PDCA to resolve recurring equipment issues.
  • Track maintenance KPIs, including MTBF, MTTR, PM completion, work order performance, and equipment downtime.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives, including 5S and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and support internal and external audits.
  • Promote a safe work environment and compliance with company policies.

The Maintenance Lead is responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of manufacturing equipment and facility systems. This role leads the preventive maintenance program, coordinates maintenance activities, manages work orders and contractors, and drives continuous improvement initiatives. Working closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Safety, the Maintenance Lead helps maximize equipment uptime and supports operational excellence.
