City of William is seeking a Maintenance Laborer I to perform semi-skilled maintenance of city facilities and grounds, including landscaping services, under the supervision of the Maintenance Superintendent. This nonsupervisory position emphasizes reliability, physical stamina, and a willingness to perform related duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with City and OSHA safety requirements.
• Knowledge of MSDS for each chemical used.
• Use of proper safety equipment when performing tasks.
• Knowledge of how to use weed eater, riding lawn mower, push mower, hedge trimmer, and chainsaw.
• Ability to operate equipment safely including weed eaters, lawn mowers, hedge trimmers, and chainsaws.
• Ability to back up trailers and drive water trucks.
• Ability to use and wear all required PPE.
• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions and be exposed to outside elements.
• Must possess a current, valid Arizona Driver’s License when hired.

Performs semi-skilled maintenance of the City’s facilities and grounds and provides landscaping services.

Organizational Relationships

• Reports to: Maintenance Superintendent
• Directs: This is a nonsupervisory position.
• Other: Works with the general public and other City employees and performs landscaping and maintenance services. You must be 18 to operate the equipment necessary to perform the job.

Essential Duties

• Performs routine maintenance, including cleaning, mowing, and weed eating at park areas and other City‑owned facilities and properties.
• Sets up and takes down for special events.
• Performs other related duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
