Job summary

CommuteAir LLC in Houston, TX seeks a Maintenance Instructor to develop and deliver training per the Maintenance Training Manual. You will create student materials, coordinate schedules with department heads, and ensure records and endorsements are accurate.

We value aviation classroom experience, strong aircraft knowledge, and proficiency with MS Office and course development software. A&P license preferred; we support growth and flight benefits for employees and families.

Qualifications

  • Previous aviation classroom training experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft and powerplant systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft, Adobe and other course development software.
  • A&P license preferred.
  • Organized with the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities.
  • Legally authorized to work in the USA.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver training courses to CommuteAir employees and contract employees.
  • Develop and utilize course outlines as standard training objectives.
  • Design student literature, visual aids and other materials to aid student motivation and retain knowledge.
  • Coordinate course schedules with department heads to meet training requirements.
  • Maintain accurate training records and documentation for each course.
  • Act in a supervisory capacity during training activities.
  • Perform training actions you are trained, qualified, or authorized to do.
  • Review, maintain, and authorize training endorsements.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager of Maintenance Training.

What the position is:

The Maintenance Instructor is responsible to develop and conduct courses as required by this manual and the Maintenance Training Manual.

Essential Functions:
  • Develop and deliver training courses to CommutAir employees and contract employees
  • Develop and utilize course outlines as standard training objectives
  • Design student literature, visual aids and other materials to aid student motivation and retain subject knowledge
  • Recommend course content changes needed to improve student knowledge or skills
  • Coordinate course schedules with department heads to comply with initial and recurrent training requirements
  • Assist the Maintenance Department in identifying new training requirements to improve employee efficiency or improve aircraft reliability
  • Conduct Contract Maintenance Provider or Essential Maintenance Provider training, including GMM, initial systems, and/or recurrent training
  • Initiate and maintain accurate training records and documentation for each course
  • Act in a supervisory capacity when performing training activities.
  • Perform any maintenance action on which he has been trained, qualified or authorized
  • Review, maintain, and authorize all training endorsements.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the Manager of Maintenance Training
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of all positions at CommuteAir.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Previous aviation classroom training experience (preferred.)
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft and powerplant systems a must.
  • Experience with Microsoft, Adobe and other course development software.
  • A&P license (preferred.)
  • Basic Computer Skills, especially MS Office suite.
  • Organized with the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities regularly.
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language
  • Legally authorized to work in the USA
Physical Requirements:

Sedentary Work:

Exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body, sedentary work involves sitting most of the time and walking /standing occasionally. With or without accommodation

Includes inspection, close assembly, clerical administrative; This is a minimal standard for use with those whose work deals largely with preparing and analyzing data and figures, accounting, computer, extensive reading.

Environmental Conditions:

Inside environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
