Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Maintenance Technician to repair and maintain plant production equipment and facilities, ensuring safe and efficient operation. You will support PM programs, assist in machine conversions, and mentor operators in maintenance tasks.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in maintenance, hydraulics/pneumatics knowledge, and basic electrical skills. Candidates should bring basic hand tools and a proactive problem-solving mindset.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Organizational skills for scheduling work effectively.
  • Industrial Mechanic Certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Basic knowledge in electricity and control.
  • 3+ years of maintenance experience or certificate.
  • Injection/Blow mold and facilities maintenance experience preferred.
  • Own basic hand tools, standard/metric.
  • Ability to work independently, solve problems and make decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on plant production equipment and facilities.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues using a multi-meter.
  • Update, develop and improve equipment PM programs.
  • Direct and advise production staff during repairs.
  • Assist in machine conversions and PMs; support machine operation when needed.
  • Maintain stock of spare parts and assist plant electrician with electrical problems.
  • Adhere to safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout and Fire/Evacuation.

Job Description Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Mechanic performs necessary repairs and preventative maintenance on plant production equipment and facilities equipment, ensuring proper and safe operational conditions. Accountable for all projects, repairs and/or improvement on the line as well as any mold changes, and maintaining preventative maintenance. Must be able to effectively use a multi-meter for troubleshooting Ensures proper and safe operational conditions of all production and related equipment. Improve the production equipment, utilities, efficiency and reliability. Recommend, plan, repair, modify, make, install and adjust all the necessary elements following a problem or project, which may have an effect on the productivity. Analyse and resolve all issues related to the equipment. Ensures cleanliness of all equipment and related areas after repairs or PMs. Keeps all tools in good and safe condition and ensures tools are returned to its appropriate location. Assist in updating, developing and improving equipment PM programs. Communicate to supervisors on the condition of all production equipment. Direct and advise production employees when they help with repairs. Assist and train production employees in machine conversions and PMs. Assist in machine operation if need arises. Assist in maintaining appropriate stock of spare parts. Assist plant electrician in investigating any electrical related problems. Assist other maintenance employees with repairs, PMs, installation, commissioning and testing equipment. Review all machine safety procedures such as Lockout/Tagout and general safety procedures such as Fire/Evacuation, Accident Reporting, and all aspects of the Safety Contract.

About You
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to organize work within the schedules effectively and economically.
  • Provincial/Industrial Mechanic Certification preferred.
  • Knowledge in hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Have basic knowledge in electricity and control.
  • Must have prior maintenance/mechanical experience with either a minimum of 3 years or a certificate in maintenance.
  • Injection, Blow Mold, Facilities maintenance experience preferred.
  • Must possess basic hand tools, standard/metric.
  • Ability to work independently, solve problems, make decisions and resolve conflicts

The pay range for the above referenced position is determined by taking into account many factors such as experience, qualifications, certifications, skills, education and other business-related factors. Salary decisions are based on each job. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $32.00-35.00 hourly based on skills, ability and experience.
