Job summary

Adecco is hiring a Maintenance Technician II (Skilled) in Oakland to install, maintain, and repair equipment, machinery, and building systems across the facility. The role emphasizes safe, efficient, high-quality maintenance services and hands-on problem-solving.

The ideal candidate has experience in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, welding, or HVAC systems, with an associate degree or equivalent experience. Strong communication and math skills are valued.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree OR 6 months-1 year of related experience OR equivalent combination.
  • Ability to read instructions, write basic reports, and communicate effectively.
  • Basic math skills (fractions, decimals, ratios).
  • Strong problem-solving and mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service to residents, staff, and vendors.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems; service water heaters and furnaces.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair machinery and equipment.
  • Dismantle defective equipment and install parts.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections.
  • Repair and maintain facility structures and resident accommodations.
  • Operate machine tools (lathe, drill, grinder, milling machines).
  • Complete work orders and projects in a timely manner.
  • Follow safety protocols and wear PPE.
  • Report safety hazards and incidents immediately.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician II to support facility operations by installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment, machinery, and building systems. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality maintenance services across the facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service to residents, staff, and vendors
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on:
    • Plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems
    • Gas/electric water heaters and furnaces
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair machinery and equipment
  • Dismantle defective equipment and install new or repaired parts
  • Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections
  • Repair and maintain facility structures and resident accommodations
  • Operate machine tools (lathe, drill, grinder, milling machines)
  • Complete work orders and assigned projects in a timely manner
  • Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE
  • Report safety hazards and incidents immediately
Required Skills & Experience
  • Experience in one or more of the following:
    • Plumbing
    • Electrical
    • Carpentry
    • Welding/metal fabrication
    • Boiler, hydraulic, or HVAC systems

Physical Requirements
  • Frequently walking, handling tools, and communicating
  • Occasional climbing, kneeling, crouching, and balancing
  • Lift up to 35 lbs regularly and up to 65 lbs with assistance
  • Ability to work in various environments including outdoors
Work Environment
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts and outdoor conditions
  • Occasional exposure to chemicals, electrical hazards, and vibration
  • Moderate noise levels

Pay Details: $29.00 to $40.00 per hour
