Job summary

Milwaukee Tool is seeking a skilled Mold Maintenance Technician to join our molding department in Cookeville, TN. You will troubleshoot and repair automated injection molding equipment and related systems, ensuring minimal downtime.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, reading schematics, and coordinating with production and engineering. The role requires hands-on experience with molding machines and safety practices in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Two+ years in injection molding equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Reading hydraulic and electrical schematics is required.
  • Experience troubleshooting PLC controls.
  • Capable of using shop tools and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical/electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic systems using schematics.
  • Repair injection molding machines, robots, fixtures and related equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and document parts usage.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and maintain a clean, safe work area.
  • Coordinate with production, engineering and outside vendors.

Job Description:Job Title: Moldi ng Maintenance IIDepartment: MoldingYour Role on Our TeamWe are looking for a team member who can work safely and effectively within our fast - paced injection molding environment. The successful candidate will be comfortable working within an ever - changing environment that strives for constant improvement. This position is responsible for troubleshooting & repairing mechanical/electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic failures and performing preventive maintenance while maintaining a clean, safe working environment. Maintenance experience with Nissei , Van Dorn, Haitian and Milacron Injection Molding machines a plus.You’ll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilitiesTroubleshoot mechanical/electrical/pneumatic/ hydraulic systems using schematics and technical drawings.· Repair Injection molding machines, robots, fixtures, and other auxiliary equipment related to the injection molding process.· Modify , lubricate, diagnose, and operate equipment.· Identify and requisition needed replacement parts and supplies.· Work with other mechanics, production personnel, and engineering.· Work with outside vendors and consultants as necessary.· Perform regularly scheduled preventative maintenance.· Work independently and with other team members to complete repairs timely and safely.· Create and report repairs at end of shift. Complete required paperwork, document parts and material usage.· Understand and follow plant safety practices and safe machine operation.The TOOLS you’ll bring with you:Minimum two years’ experience in maintenance of mechanical/electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic production equipment, computers, robotics, and industrial controls equipment.· Two plus years in injection molding equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and repair.· Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.· Ability to read and understand hydraulic & electrical schematics.· Ability to troubleshoot automation PLC controls.· Ability to operate lathes, milling machines, welders, and other shop equipment.· General knowledge of safe working practices including Lock-Out/Tag Out.· Minimum of two year s vocational certification in industrial maintenance, or related field.· A sense of urgency with good time management skills.· Excellent skills in working with interdisciplinary groups (Injection Molding, Tool Room, QA, MFG, Etc.)· Computer Literate. Experience in Microsoft Office and Excel preferred.· Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.· Strong organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.· Ability to interpret complex situations and execute actions and plans.· Excellent project management skills – ability to manage timelines and meet deadlines.· Must be flexible, able to work in a cross functional organization.· Practical and academic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques and tools a plusMilwaukee Tool is an equal opportunity employer.
