Job summary

Staples, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Maintenance Technician to join our warehouse maintenance team. You will use hand tools and learn to perform routine maintenance on hydraulic and electrical systems, batteries, and related equipment, with hands-on training provided.

We value a positive, can-do attitude and will support your growth through company-provided courses. This is a full-time role in a dynamic warehouse setting with safety initiatives and seasonal temperature variations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must pass a drug screen where legally permissible.
• Full-time associate; overtime may be required.
• Able to work at heights up to 40 feet or more.
• Able to lift 70–100 pounds by hand.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Warehouse environment with seasonal temperature variations.
• Basic English language skills (verbal and written).

Responsibilities

• Assist with preventative maintenance and troubleshooting tasks.
• Learn hydraulics, electrical systems, and industrial batteries.
• Operate power material handling equipment and be trained on MHE.
• Follow vendor manuals and procedures for maintenance tasks.

3:00pm–11:00pm/Monday-Friday

This is an entry level Maintenance Technician position, and we are looking for people that enjoy working with hand tools and are ready to make a career out of that passion. What you bring to the table

• A mechanical aptitude, and desire to learn about hydraulics, electrical, and industrial batteries, including watering, washing, testing and repair.
• Willingness to be trained to work with electricity.
• Willingness to be trained to use vendor manuals and procedures to perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting tasks.
• Willingness to enroll in Company provided courses to improve your knowledge base.
• Ability to be trained and MHE certified to operate power material handling equipment, i.e., Forklift, Electric Pallet Jack, etc.
• An inclusive approach with your colleagues and customers to forge strong relationships and foster collaboration to resolve issues.
• Ability to demonstrate analytical thinking and problem-solving.
• Ability to adopt our safety procedures quickly and ensure safe work practices.
• Ability to be comfortable working in a warehouse environment with seasonal temperature Variations.
• Basic English language skills (both verbal and written)

What’s needed- Basic Qualifications

• A high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Ability to pass a drug screen to the extent legally permissible
• As a Full-Time associate, you must have the ability to work additional hours beyond scheduled shift; additional overtime hours will be required based on business need
• Ability to work at heights up to 40 feet or more as needed
• An ability to lift, push or pull boxes/merchandise weighing between 70 pounds and 100
• pounds by hand
• Must be at least 18 years of age
